Official Episode Discussion S2 #17 "Newtralized!"

I thought it was a pretty good episode even though I enjoyed last weeks more.
My favorite thing was that the episode focused more on Newtralizer & Slash more than the turtles and their close group.
I think that should happen more often as it's not really something we've seen in many of the TMNT shows.
But when they do they tend to be my favorite ones as I'm more of a secondary character lover.
The spy roach and the slow motion punch to the face was great.
Slash's good bye for now was touching and Newtralizer re-materializing was cool but I thought it would have malfunctioned and messed him up or something.
Oh and I really found Newtralizers Rockka Rockka Rockka laugh to so odd.
I could really see Slash going out on his own and finding other mutants and starting another group like the Mutanimals or something.

I loved this episode, thought it was awesome, like others have said, great interaction between characters. Especially Casey and Raph, becoming a great character in this show.
I liked the end battle, reminded me a lot of the Cerberus battle in out of the shadows.
Slash is really starting to become a favourite of mine now, after only watching newtralizers first appearance ep the other day it was great to see him again whilst he was fresh in my memory.

It was an enjoyable filler, really. Not much to progress the plot, besides learning more about the Newtralizer and tying up the strain between Raph (And the other turtles) and Slash. But it was entertaining. You had laughs with the odd moments like Mikey imitating Don about naming a character, and a few goofy moments with Casey (Not outdoing his annoying moments, really), and quite a few violent parts that provoke an "Oooo, that's gotta hurt".

So, good episode.

In the IDW series they've only just got together after icy fall which is the best story of the run so far,

Why did Raphael want to fight Slash and Newtralizer? Why would he care that someone else it beating up the world destroying aliens?

Looking back, I think the main reason I liked this episode was because it had some nice character interaction. Raph and Casey, Raph and Slash, Slash and Newtralizer (I found it a nice touch that Slash does care about humans), Casey and the turtles in general, etc.

It was just enjoyable to watch which made me forget it was mainly a Kraang episode. (I usually don't like those) I even found the Kraang okay this time.

I'm glad you guys pointed out Slash's conscience. That was something I wasn't really expecting from him, and it was a nice little surprise. I forgot to mention my loving Slash's character moments in this episode a few pages back. He's quickly becoming one of my favorite characters as well. Hoping we see allot more of him as the show progresses. I was also touched by the goodbye scene, as well as Slash calling Raph brother and Raph calling him Spike after his departure.

I really like Slash as well, but that's not new. I was hoping that he'd stayed evil a little longer, but yeah the moment between him and Raph was quite touching. I wonder if his beef with the other Turtles is over now

It was an okay episode, and it was nice to see the Newtralizer again.

Btw, wasn't he supposed to became an ally?

Finally saw this episode, Thought it was pretty good, Finally good to see Slash coming to his senses in the end.

Danny Trejo was the voice of the Newtralizer, But you couldn't recognize him with all the voice modulation going on.

Btw, Whats up with Newtralizer yelling. "Rocka! Rocka! Rocka!" a lot

I really hate the way they write Raph sometimes. This episode was one of those times.

Cool Star Wars references (if that's what they were. I've had SW on the brain a bunch recently) - the AT-AT like weapon of the Kraang and Casey bringing it down like Luke/Death Star in EP IV.

AT-AT are those giant four legged robots that they fought on Hoth, you were thinking of AT-ST (Chicken walkers) that they fought on Endor, though i was reminded of ED209 while i was watching it...

It was very smart of him to wait until they needed help so he could look like a hero. XD nothing says "you really need me" like a heroic last minute save!

Though that still doesen't change the fact that he was sudenly incompetent (Seriously, where did that come from, did he smoke some weed or something?)
He got almost killed like 5 times and they are sudenly cool with leting him back in the team? i don't get this...

he's not incompetent he's just not as graceful as the turtles XD

to tell you the truth I kinda had a problem with how competent he was before, so I'm glad they made him a little clumsy, but he's still tough and not a bad shot either!

I didn't enjoy this episode as much as I thought I would. I was very excited to see both Slash and the Newtralizer again. However, with this episode coming off as a filler, it wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. And the Newtralizer seems different than when he was first introduced. It isn't just because he speaks now, something just seemed off.

There were parts I still enjoyed. I was surprised to see Slash care about innocent people. It makes it seem even more that Slash has Venom's type of thought process. Slash does want to protect the innocent, but he wants to deal his own type of justice to the bad guys. It was great to see Raph save Slash and Slash acknowledged it, then called Raph his brother. It still would have been cool to see Slash go back to the lair with the other turtles though.

I can just see the awkward moment if Slash tried to apologize to Leo and the others. Or Slash asks Mikey to teach him how to play a video game. But hopefully there will be many more episodes with Slash in it. Also, did something happen to Newtralizer at the end? Was it just showing him come back, or did he get changed in some way? And anytime I see a Kraang episode, I never see them as an actual threat. The Kraang just keep getting obliterated.
