I hope they don't completely ignore Michelangelo's injury next episode. I do hope they don't focus too much on it but don't just forget it happened. At least have Mikey come out of his room and be like "Hey I'm feeling better" or something.

Also, I wonder if Karai will ever be able to trust the turtles again after they let Tiger Claw take her to The Shredder.

I'd love to know what she's thinking/feeling/going through while she's in that jail cell.

I can see Leo pull a "If it was April, wouldn't you go save her?" on Donnie.

She should just be dancing her ass off like Lady Gaga did in jail.

Same. Definitely agree. However, since the 2003 show hardly gets any acknowledgement or recognition from the nick staff (and has also been thrown under the bus), I doubt it'll ever happen.

Rather than wait for Splinter and the boys to bust her out, she just needs to channel her inner Miss Piggy:

In all seriousness though, is anyone else wondering who else Shredder might have in his jail cells? My imagination's going into overdrive here... I mean, he has to have thrown people in jail before or he wouldn't have the cells. So I wonder who else he's got prisoner down there?

Technically they already did.

Pizzaface is supposed to be after this episode...hence another reason they aired it first.

Preview of next episode shows Michelangelo recovered from his injuries anyways, so they most likely did ignore it. I'd say they used Michelangelo's injury as a clever excuse for Leo and the others not to rescue Karai.

They never really mentioned anything about injuries after Slash beat the snot out of them either (and they got pretty banged up then), so I wasn't expecting it in the next ep.

Nah, I was as well.
I also liked the contrast diplayed between Shredder and Splinter's lair, and the part where Karai said "I have no honor... but that's about to change!"

This episode was really intense. Tiger Claw is a badass. I wasn't impressed with some of the previous episodes but this one was amazing.

Therefore permanently ending the journey of the OT characters, and even the OT show itself in a way, that the original writer would most likely not have intended.

If it was a true canon development, as I said before, it would be another lowbrow behavior of throwing the OT version under the bus again, just to superficially "one up" their own cool factor, just for the sake of a moderately emphasized villain in the Nick series. Which would have been so ironic considering since both 2K3 and Nick owe their creation to the past success of the OT in creating Turtlemania. In my eyes, a product's "coolness" is how much it can do on its own rather than heavily berating/mocking something from the past to boast its own importance/relevance.
I think I can see your point now. I think I had that strong of reaction (or wish as you will) because I just hate that TF movie so much, that seeing yet another attempt to be like the TF movie had sort of made me mad. Honestly, I think that movie is only well regarded because it threw the OT fans a meager nostalgic bone at the time even as it mocked their Turtles, and OT fans overlooked this major flaw and took it because 'Hey, at least they're showing the 80s' Turtles!"

Now that Nick shows respect to this version of the Turtles, it isn't as bad, but I'd hope that by calling the OT a dimension and not universe that it's a sign that it is distancing itself away from that movie. Plus it doesn't crap on the OT and try to be meta about it (the whole 'multiverse ending' thing) which is another thing it strongly has in it's favor.

Nevertheless, it seems that both of our concerns have been addressed with the OT Turtles fighting like warriors and still being alive.
I would take the Nick and OT 'meeting' as the only canon occurrence of two TMNT shows ever crossing over. That just did it so well, and it made the OT seem less bound by certain rules (Tigerclaw killing a Kraathatrogen in the OT, instead of it being spared and sent back to it's own dimension like the OT Turtles would have done with it.) I thought that was so cool, and made the OT feel like it had hidden bits of being dark and serious (and that was one of those that wasn't just in the Red Sky seasons.)

I can't believe people are still whining about their perception that the 80's turtles were significantly marginalized in Turtles Forever. It's like you ONLY paid attention to those Turtles.

I still can't believe that it's been accepted as "fact" that people believe the 4kids staff deliberately did a "bad" portrayal of the Fred Wolf characters in order to boost up their own.

They went to incredible lengths to replicate the animation of the old show (much better than Nick has) and pretty decent sound-a-likes, referenced several aspects of the old show including some pretty obscure things and even ripped actual lines of dialogue from the show. They did all just to insult them.

Anyhoo I really liked this episode but I hope the fact that the turtles let Tiger Claw get away with Karai is not going to be the justification for the character to not join with the turtles which I can see happening. At very least I hope they're don't play it so ham fisted and have her angry at the turtles.

It would better for her to understand why they didn't pursue Tiger Claw but still feel hurt by it. Also an acknowledgment that while Shredder robbed her of her real life (and mother) he did raise her.

Not necessarily. It could just get knocked loose and the skin not be torn or cut. I'm thinking it was separated from the rest of the shell without the skin pulling away. Could happen, I suppose.

I'm not surprised you would bring up this off-topic logic yet again Galactus, but it's not like you haven't done it before and earlier, by giving yet again the same art imagery response for a character behavior/depiction issue.

Your point makes as much sense as hyperfocusing on the props and visual backdrop of a stage play (the animation, references, and sound-a-likes in Turtles Forever) claiming that they all do the play "justice" (or the OT Turtles "justice" in this case), while ignoring the script, tone, and characterization of the stage play (how the OT Turtles behaved and how 70% of the movie's humor was based on the OT Turtles' incompetence/immaturity). But I guess that art imagery itself is primarily enough to keep you satisfied, so be it then...

Talking So Happy

I know I haven't posted in a very long time but THAT was an awesome episode!
I love the Nick tmnt series but felt that it wasn't as good as it was in the first season anymore, and then this episode changed all that!
Loved Mikey's genus idea to find Casey, but he only new how to find Casey because he knew how to track the pizza delivery guy!!!
I liked how Leo still cares for Kari, but it no longer come across as a crush.
Donny had some funny moments
I wish Raph could have had some more awesome senses. I feel like he gets left out some. We need some awesome Raph fight sense or something. Give the guy something to protect, idk.... I'm ranting!
Glad the next ep. will still somewhat continue this episode!

It's not really off topic as it was being discussed already on this thread and it's worth bringing up again because no one has ever been able to counter my points. All I've ever gotten is deflection and animated gifs.

For me it really boiled down to intent. Obviously a lot of fans of the Fred Wolf turtles felt that the show deliberately mischaracterized the 87 characters in order to make them look bad and their own version look better but was really what they set out to do or just how some people felt?

I would argue given all the things I've argued (and I hope they don't need listing again) that the answer is no. Afterall why would they go to all that effort to recreate the 87 characters just to insult them?

That's before considering that the same effort wasn't even made on their own characters and that more than once the OT methods saved the day...or that a lot of the things the chracters said and did in the special were actually from the old show. That's one of tne reasons I'd argue it was a "wrong" intepretation just one that focused on aspects a lot of fans would prefer they avoided.

To be honest I don't see any difference between the portrayal of the turtles in Turtles Forever and in Wormquake that people initially raved about but maybe that worked better as a small scene than stretched out for a whole special.
