Or leave it ambiguous so everyone is happy.

I find it kinda funny that people are assuming that its 100% normal for teenager turtle mutant to get crush on a human based on attractiveness.

I mean, yeah, turtles are part human and they have grown up on human media raised by former human... But they are still reptiles, wouldn't they find humans to be somewhat gross at least? Then again, they do seem to have way of thinking that they are freaks and humans are normal so I guess they have self esteem related problems with that.

Also, I find it interesting that people think its not gross because April is also mutant and I'm like "So wait, she looks exactly like a human, but reason its not gross is that she has mutated genes?" Like, how would it be gross if April was just regular human if they look the same either way? Its still interspecies relationship. I feel there is double standard here, if April was some kind of insect mutant, I'd think people find this pairing much grosser. Or better yet, if April looked like a krang. Double standards when it comes to "ugly" characters is kinda sad.

Just to clarify, I'm not saying that relationship between a mutant and a human would be wrong. It'd be wrong if one of them wasn't sentient. But it'd still be somewhat gross, I'm pretty sure we humans have instinct for wanting to breed with our own kind, otherwise this species wouldn't survive that well so majority of us will feel it is gross If in hypothetical future we meet intelligent tentacle aliens or something like that, it'd be okay for human and tentacle alien to be in relationship, but it'd still be gross.

What percentage of fans, esp female ones, would admit to crushing a tiny bit on those turtle pixels..? lol My only theory as to why people might decide it gets a pass on being labeled weird.

Hey, aside from April. All they have is each other.

It's not that different then Raphael rolling out of bed with Ninjara, another intersperses relationship, even if it's two non-humans.

And for another Gargoyles comparison, Elisa was crushing on Goliath first. Not the other way around as Gargoyles mate for life.

If Donnie and April do end up together, odds are they would be more like married in common law and adopt a child.

If April and Casey end up together, April and Casey would be traditionally married. Donnie would still be part of their lives, but he would be more of a God-father to April and Casey's children.

Aaaand I actually agree on that, Ralp finding Ninjara hot makes as much sense as Donatello finding April attractive. Thats why I gave example that if April was instead some kind of insect mutant or looked like a krang, people would be jumping on "Its gross" far more often.

To be fair, Goliath looks like a human with wings, claws and rock colored skin. So I don't think Goliath is best comparison since hes easily most attractive in human ways of male gargoyles, reaction would be different if it was one of less human like gargoyles.

You know what's ironic about this? Raph x April seems like it's going to happen in the film while Donnie x April could happen in the series, meh.

Did the writers just hate the April x Casey pairing that much from the 2003 series?

And Netkeeper, those avatar and sig pictures you did look so cool! They look so well done that I thought they were a professional cartoon
Yeah, Karai is an excellent character and never needed to be a love interest. Some shippy material might be present, but it's not a defining trait of her character. She has a strong personality and she is NOT a love interest. Mostly talking about the 2k3 version here, though, since I know admittedly little about her 2k12 counterpart [but she doesn't seem to be very bad there, correct me if there are problems with 2k12's interpretation].

That's not to say that a female character can't be a love interest at all, though. I've seen some great characters that started out as "the love interest" but became fleshed out because the writers actually cared about her [see Jeri Kato in Digimon Tamers for an example].

And thank you! It means a lot to hear things like that. I worked hard on those images! And it's cutely relevant because both of those characters are female as well.

It ain't just girls that find appeal in their muscular physiques.

You'd be surprised how much love Brooklyn gets, despite the beak! That being said, it's been established that gargoyles have different beauty standards than humans do, so if anything, Goliath grew to love Elisa for who she was, not for who she looked like.

Interesting note, Lexington is actually into guys. No joke.

And I agree he is the cutey, of the group. Too bad his clone becomes evil Lex.

I find it completely hilarious that people have a problem with a humanoid mutant having feelings for a humanoid mutant...

Now that's hilarious.

And before asking you whether you REALLY would say April isn't human....

In other words, MUTANT ISN'T A SPECIES. Hell, technically everyone is a mutant since cells mutate all the time. Its still interspecies relationships between a reptililian humanoid mutant and a mammal humanoid with tentacle brain alien genes.

Yes, I know. I was thrilled as hell when I learned my favourite Gargoyle was canonically gay. That was just the greatest news for my inner childhood to hear.

Brooklyn and Malibu were my favorite characters on the show. Another thing Gargoyles and Turtle's share. Under utilized clones.

Speaking of evil clones, it would be interesting to see evil clones of the Turtles working on the side of the Foot. I know that could be a lazy plot device, but if executed right it could be interesting.

It depends on the circumstance. Sometimes you'll get mutations that are handy in certain conditions like having dark skin that's more resistant to sun burns and sometimes you'll mutations that force you to work harder like having narrow birthing hips and children that mature slowly which give reason for early humans stick around longer and work together. It's really more of when life gives you lemons, make lemonade sort of perspective.

Recently there was special about this kid name Liam who had like captain america super strength but the downside to his seriously awesome mutation was that if he goes too long without eating, he'll suffer brain damage. There also the downside of being ostracized by the public, namely heads of the Olympics' community for mutants to compete in it because they feel it's not fair for people who have super genes like Liam compete against people who had to train to get there.

Yes I did read your post, and the thing I find hilarious is people..."People" therefore directed to everybody with this mindset, not just you; use the "Well she looks human, so it's different" like it's a good reason.

The "She looks human, so..." is the dumbest cop-out imaginable for not liking this, you're better off saying you just don't like it. So you therefore you wouldn't have a problem with say Doctor Who, a 900 year old alien falling in love with one of his clients, just because he "looks" human, even though you clearly know he's an alien? That's utterly ridiculous.

You can change "mutant" to "mammal humanoid with tentacle brain alien genes" all you want. It's still "mutant", period. And it's still mutant/mutant relationship, period.

The other thing I find hilarious is "people" have a problem with the Donnie/April trend because it's a "mutant" falling for a human, yet they'll turn right around and say April/Casey is fine, yet fail to remember that in this incarnation of Turtles, April/Casey falls under the exact same category as the former, "Mutant" falling for a human.

So unless people are playing favorites, they should either be supporting both or rejecting both. There's no in middle.

I support both, because heaven forbid, this isn't any more extreme then anything seen on say..."Star Trek", which has been around for 50 years, along with lord knows what else that's been on TV even longer than that.

This.... and we don't specifically know if April is really a mutant mutant. I mean yeah it has been stated on the show that April is a mutant. But that is more like the only thing they uses to describe what she is at this time.

For people who think Donnie and April shouldn't be together be together because one is a humanoid animal and one of them is a normal humanoid in general. How do you explain Leo becoming soulmated with Radical in the mirage comics.
