Anton...interesting name used by some "ethnics". Heh. But, I'm kinda glad that he has a real name and how Bebop will either be his nickname or Mikey will give him the name after he's mutated.

Like I was saying earlier Bebop and Rocksteady as nicknames just makes more sense to me. Even as a kid, I always assumed they were nicknames that stuck because it'd be strange to actually be given such names at birth.

Yeah, I always thought of Bebop and Rocksteady as gang names and not real names. I like Bebop's real name and feel that it's appropriate to who he is. If you don't like it, Cubed, just don't watch. Seriously, you're becoming impossible to please.

Hey, just wondered - has anyone thought of the idea that maybe Shredder will have nothing to do with Bebop and Rocksteady's mutation - perhaps Baxter will do it himself, after making Shredder's "one more mutant". Maybe they won't work for Shredder at all this time, but for Baxter?

Either that, or after his next plan's failure, Shredder just might turn over a captured Anton Zeck and (Whatever Rocksteady's name will be) with a simple "Here, go with your rhino and warthog plan..."

There's a bunch of people of quite a few nationalities named Anton, it's not just an ethnic name. It's a form of 'Antony' or 'Anthony.'

Seriously, it ain't your show, it's Ciro's. And he's free to do whatever it is he wants on it. If your unhappy with it, go watch the 80's cartoon.
I don't think Cubee is ever happy.

Until he thinks Bebop isn't 'acting black enough.'

As long as they call them Bebop and Rocksteady when they are mutants, I don't care what there real names actually are.

They'll obviously be called Bebop/Rocksteady as mutants, that's not the issue.

I know but it is a common name with some African Americans. That aside, I'm just glad they didn't give him a stereotypical name.

I'm actually trying to understand what the issue is. Could you please explain it once more?

I don't want Bebop/Rocksteady to have "human" names. I've always seen Bebop/Rocksteady as their "real" names to begin with.

Ditto, cuz I'm not really getting what the problem is here... assuming there actually is one and Cubed isn't just joking.

EDIT: What difference does it make if they have human names? They're not going to be used once they've been mutated anyway.

Shredder still calls them Xever and Bradford. If Bebop/Rocksteady work for Shredder, we'll still hear them call them by their human names most likely.

I'd rather they just always be Bebop and Rocksteady so there is no name alteration.

But, it's more realistic, imo. Who would actually name their child such names? It makes sense for Bebop or Rocksteady to be nicknames, not actual ones. I always felt that they were nicknames back in the OT or their "thug names". It's like Shredder, you know? His real name isn't Shredder. In the OT series, Krang would occasionally call him "Saki". No real problem there, right?

Unless the two insist on being called "Bebop" or "Rocksteady", like this incarnation's Slash did, it'd make sense for Shredder to refer to them by their actual names. I find it unusual that the mutated villains themselves refer to themselves by their "mutant" names.

I'm still curious how they'll get the names after mutated.

Shredder still calls them Bradford and Xever even as mutants, so will he call Bebop "Anton?" God I hope not.
In your oh so wise words "you're making a mountain out of a mole hill"

Haha, really though, so he may be called Anton by shredder? He'll still be referred to as bebop by everyone else

Guessing it'll be a sound that's made by his suit.

And I think they actually named rahzar pretty cleverly. He roared at Mikey, and Mikey's last line before naming him was "raaaaah yourself you razor faced dog"

Rah+razor= rahzar definitely a Mikey nickname.

If Bebop's working for Shredder, Shredder will likely refer to him as Zeck as his name. Cubed, you are so ridiculous sometimes.

Am I the only one who though todays episode was meh . They wasted the use of Baxterfly because he didn't talk I mean why have him there if he doesn't talk . Also the humor was bad and the shredder fight was so short and rushed . And i'm not a huge fan of steranko he doesn't seem dumb enough to be rocksteady . Also the humor was so crappy in this episode ( pun intended ) I didn't laugh much this episode .

Do you hate this version's Slash, because he's not dumb and stupid like the '87 Slash?

Sometimes change is good, seriously, why would you want him to be dumb again in a version of Turtles that's trying to be more serious?

I always assumed the mutants who started as animals, or were humans who didn't have much of an identity before being mutated, would be more likely to go by their "mutant name", while regular humans who were mutated would generally keep using their human name.
