Bebop and Rocksteady from the new Show

Yeah, there are some crazy names out there like Placenta and Apple. However, I like that Bebop and Rocksteady have human names and have origins along with them. There's nothing wrong with that. You're just making it more than it should be, Cubed, and you really need to just get a life.

Because they're trying to make the show take place with some sort of semblance of reality. Otherwise all the weirdness wouldn't really be all that weird. It's a cartoon but it's not exactly bugs bunny.

I used to work at a health center inputting information from patient encounters, so I've also seen my share of the oddest names.

I believe that "Butt" is also a common surname with Middle Easterners, but maybe that's pronounced differently too.

It's pretty clear the guy is Rocksteady. Look at his uniform. He has spiked gold bars on his shoulders, and some sort of gold bars on his hands. Now look at Rocksteady. Spiked gold shoulder pads, and what appear to be gold bars 'melted' into his skin. No way is that a coincidence.

Anyway, my theory is that Shredder, enraged that his Helmet was stolen, Mutates Steranko and Zeck into Bebop and Rocksteady and they become RIVALS of Shredder, not Hench Men. Not to say they're good guys, because they're crooks, so obviously they'll have beef with the turtles, but I think they'll be they're own people, not dopey lovable henchmen.

Oh I hope they become rivals! That would be such a nice change, and it feel much more 'realistic' then if they got mutated and they just became more mere underlings. They aren't afraid of him like Baxter is, so they can't be easily cowed into joining. Plus Sterenko has connections and money, which goes a long way towards ensuring that he won't be powerless if he does take up a revenge rivalry.

Besides, Shredder badly needs a rival anyway instead of just the Turtles, as the current status quo is getting a bit boring. I thought Bradford was going to do it once he got mutated again, but alas that was not to be.

Bebop and Rocksteady as rivals would be awesome to see and definitely a new twist considering they both stole Shredder's helmet, and he won't want to welcome them into the fold because of that.

Bebop and Rocksteady should be best friends, not rivals. People want to see them together, not solo. They shouldn't change things for the sake of changing things.

Its always, "Bebop and Rocksteady," not, "just Bebop" or "just Rocksteady."

Its a rule and the law of the land, I doubt they'll change it since they were already shown to be close buddies.

I'm hoping for them to act as rivals to the Shredder as well, though I wouldn't be too terribly surprised if Karai broke away from Shredder and linked up with the two of them, firming their own little facet. It's not like Karai will immediately turn over a new leaf and be good, she was raised to be bad, and frankly I don't see her joining the Turtle Family.

If that happens I don't think they'll be her henchmen either, I think it will be more like a partnership. Steranko wants revenge, Anton wants revenge, Karai wants revenge. It's like a perfect match made in hell.

Also I could see Steranko manipulating her or being the leader over her. He still has a power base while she doesn't (since she was cast out) and she'd have to do what he wants if she ever desires to have her part of the revenge against Shredder. He has weapons and vehicles, she doesn't. He has resources at his disposal, she doesn't. He has money and influence, she doesn't. She'll have to get used to getting orders from him and she can't be a snot about it either, or he'll not help her at all.

At least this is my theory, as I could be wrong.

Why not? She was very well attached to Splinter once she realized that he was actually her father, she risked her life to save the Turtles against Tiger Claw, and also wasn't even moved by Shredder's words which could imply she didn't consider Splinter pathetic or scum at all.

I can definitely see her siding with the turtles, but if she doesn't, then it would have to be a reason like not wanting to endanger the turtles by staying with them (as that would want Shredder to regain his "daughter").

Exactly. Plus, she felt guilty when she realized she'd betrayed their Lair to Tiger Claw. If she didn't want to join them, she would have just never gone there and talked to Splinter. And if she's going to be mutated, it makes sense for her to stay with the Turtles as they're the only family she really has now that she's going to leave the Foot.

While I don't think it would happen, I think it would be interesting if Karai teamed up with them to try and take over the Foot, rather than just get revenge. She's led the foot in other versions, so it wouldn't be completely out there.

I don't understand why you're so obsessed with Rocksteady and Bebop, and Wingnut for that matter, acting exactly like they did in the OT and yet you have no problem with the way they changed Rat King, Rahzar, and Mutagen Man, as well as no Tokka hanging out with Rahzar.
