So you have animated Highely detailed 3d cgi Character before You have worked with special Effects? Have you every worked on a movie in which it involve heavily CGI and special effect wither that also be CGI or practical????

I get you have a "film" background I have a friend whos a director, another whos and actor But they have next to no idea what it take to do antyhing with a movie of this level sorry Not trying to be rude

Im a chef this does not mean i could run Ramsey's Kitchen nor no what it take to run his kitchen I have theories but that about it Until i have actually worked in his kitchen or something similar i have not actual idea how it really works


We have actually seen quit a bit with in the last month more then some movies Heck you seen any extensive marketing for Hercules? but what ever im sold i just need to wait till i see the movie got my free ticket going to see it several time that all that matters to me, Sure i want to see more but i dont "need" to but that's me

its June 20th the movie comes out in 6 weeks..at this point any tweaking..especially for stills should be more than done..

we should be in full fledged turtle stills at least and we have nothing but leaked photos from fans, tons of april stills, the same concept art and soda cans

you are telling me it takes more time to render the turtles over Groot and Rocket ? yet we have not only seen Groot and Rocket move but, talk, laugh etc as well as see their world and get a small glimpse at the effects in that film...we have been seeing Optimus and the Dinobots move,roar and,transform since February


this whole "they are still tweaking" isnt a valid excuse anymore for STILL images

If you can show me All the leaked stills from the first transformers movie that came out before the movie I could say your argument is valid. I remember researching that movie to death. The only images I ever found of that movie was some of optimus, bumble bee, jazz, and barricade. Thats only cause the toys came out a little early. Same as this movie. Not only till the second instalment did we see much more of the movie stills. This is a new film. We are all so use to getting everything a year before (thank Marvel for that) that we forget studios have different marketing schemes. But I'm new on this forum so what the hell do I know

About still tweaking the effects. Of course they would be tweaking and fixing up until they have to finish it, polishing "never" stops and there will always be something that was not noticed until much later. Even Frozen had animation errors.

When I was doing my first years of 3D animation. Me and my team mates when we where working on our finals, we where tweaking and fixing not only the animation, but the lighting, the textures, the weather effects. And a point one of the character models we had was supposed to drop his forearm ( it was a old robot), the arm didn't fall, it just vanished in the final render instead of falling to the ground, we had to work overtime to figure out how that was happening, as the forearm was visible when test rendered. And this is just a amateur first year students project.

Things can go wrong, so badly wrong. Like rendering a animation segment for 3 days, only to find out that something is wrong and you have to fix it and render the bit all over again.

not really as others mentioned, sometimes tweaking is still being done to the week or a few days before premier.

awesome, unfortunately we haven't for the turtles. im not TOTALLY positive or TOTALLY negative. i agree theres been A LOT of hiccups and mistakes all along for this movie. as we all know one of the biggest gripes is how the turtles look. seems like the producers have listened and have been changing some of the features of the faces, especially. those that condemn the movie for not having any "real" images of the turtles yet are the same ones who cried about how "awful" they look.

isnt it a good thing that they're taking their time now?

but most stills are taken from actual footage. so, if they're still tweaking the turtles, they still have to finalize the footage they take the stills from.

...and btw, its not uncommon for effects heavy films to work right up until release...just watch Peter Jackson's blog for The Desolation of Smaug, they were working on the final cut the morning it was to be screened. pretty crazy if you ask me. i would panic. lol

I'd say the marketing has been slow to start. Not poor. Not yet anyways.
They have until August 8th (or October in some region) to get people into the theatres.

After the debacle of the Amazing Spider Man 2 marketing blitz, I'm actually relieved we haven't seen that much. That was overkill. I'm sure Mid-July most will be complaining they're showing too much.

A lot of the marketing talk is just us being impatient and nothing else.

Another day, more lackluster marketing, lots of action movies released something today, GOTG released some badass promo art giving us our first real look at Ronan full body, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes released a new TV spot, yet another action packed TV spot for Transformers, and... TMNT released?.....
Weird thing is.. they all come out around the same time as TMNT..

This is exactly what I mean when I say... the marketing has been poor. Market the film well by bombarding us with new tv spots, new trailers etc. Why is this film hiding? August 8th is not that far away!

Spider-man syndrome. As much as I am so sad that we still haven't seen another trailer, patience is a virtue and is greatly rewarded.

They are probably still finishing the CGI or were up until very recently which is why they didn't release anything for such a long time and it's been so slow.

Exactly. We are clamoring for footage which is actually a good thing. But that's more impatience on our part. We've gotten so used to being so so much, so far out that we expect it. Case in point - Amazing Spiderman 2. They pretty showed every good scene, every money shot. I for one am glad they haven't shown too much (yet).
