(I mean, he's one of only three, across all media/franchises not just TMNT, this is a very exclusive group of faves. lol) If that was there, I'd be dying to camp out in front of the theater.
Mikey's won me over a fair bit with his humour, in spite of his face. What pains me is that I'm so put off by Raph - not just his angry raisin face and gappy tombstone teeth, but the awful voice that sounds like someone trying to do a bad Mr T-tough guy impersonation. His voice and Leo's voice just throw me right off.

I think Fox is going to deadface her way through the whole movie, but I was expecting that anyway. Shreddertron... is actually what I was expecting with my worst-case scenario.

I think this movie's going to be big, loud and bombastic. There's not going to be a lot of substance, finesse or subtlety (IMO, don't jump down my throat anybody) - but if you can roll with that, and divorce yourself from taking this movie seriously in any way, shape or form, I think that there is going to be some fun to be found.

Those're my feelings anyway. Based on how I felt after seeing the posters yesterday, I was having serious doubts as to whether I could actually sit through this movie. After seeing the trailer, I'm back to feeling like I'll still see it at the cinema.

I guess you could say I'm a negative optimist. j/k

Just one small minor thing I would like to address Are they still working on the designs cgi and color variations like the scales etc? because Mikey looks different in that one shot where he's putting on the Mask in Hd then in here but overall everything looks great more turtle action count me in

Sad thing now, are we just going to have people putting down those old designs just because they've got something new to latch onto? :\

Personally I'd have preferred if they'd have started with the "classic" design as a base and worked/tweaked from there to update it to add more realism and hit a better point between them. I think if they tried harder to do a normal, sharper beak, gave it a bit of an overbite to it, discreet nostrils, no lip and limited flexibility on the upper jaw... but kept a narrow lip and flexibility on the lower for better speaking visually, it might have looked more legit turtley imo. But... ah well.

Yeah, hard not to be touchy over one your most attached to, I certainly understand that. Leo looks to have some definite buckteeth himself going on there... lol

They seem to behave like the 80's cartoon turtles.
Mr. Jackass just sounds like himself, disappointed in that.
And Shredder is a samurai? I hope that dude is wrong.

I'll never put down the original flicks suits. They still stand up today for all intents and purposes. Looking back now after being bombarded with the new Turtle designs these last 2 days, is how beautifully simple they are.

That said, I'm glad they didn't just do CGI versions of the old designs. I'm glad they went a little different. Granted, maybe the went a tad too far (and just a smidge imo...) but my biggest fear was the CGI. The LAST thing I wanted was Scooby Doo/Yogi Bear/Smurfs/Chipmunks style effects. I did NOT want a 'realistic render' of the cartoon design. And I'm sure I'm not alone there.

So for that reason, and that reason alone, I am game on these designs. Because they needed to push it onto this side of the fence to lose the cartoony aspect I think.

I noticed that we did not see a single shot of the Turtle Van, I wonder how much screen time is it given considering that, There is a Lego set called the Turtle Van Take Down, So I'm assuming it crashes and destroyed by the Foot Soldiers.

I just can not see myself ever watching this movie. The more I see of it the more horrible it looks to me. I know I'm just one person but man I really feel strongly that this movie looks horrible. I've always felt that the first movie was the greatest incarnation of the Turtles and I don't think it has anything to worry about from this one.

I can. The 1990 designs actually looked like the ninja turtles. The new designs don't.

I have to admit the trailer does look pretty cool. Can someone explain why they couldn't the same thing with the classic tmnt look and actual foot ninjas? I mean the dumbass extreme redesigns and stupid accessories is the only major problem with it.

I can. Easily. All day long, in fact.

There were some technical limitations, but they look exactly the way the Ninja Turtles "should" look in live action, and they actually emote rather well for their time. They also have actual physical presence and automatically look more "real" than CGI does at this point. It's improved a lot, but there's still some uncanny valley issues in the footage I've seen. Imagine what they could have done with practical/animatronic effects today if they chose to.

I kind of feel like we're getting Fred Wolf Turtles on crack, in a sense. What with Donnie's collection of different bo-staffs (which, I imagine, like the Penguin's umbrella collection, will all be able to do different things), his ability to deflect bullets with his bo, and the toss/smash action:

I mean, I'm still not seeing any of the much-vaunted Raid-style martial arts influences here. As I said, it's going to be typically Bay action - loud, flashy, and based on theatrical spectacle.

Yup, was not what I was suggesting at all.

Although Smurfs and other junk like that isn't a realistic render... That would be more along the lines of that 2007 movie laid over top of the live footage of this one. Just no. Realistic is..realistic...is...believable. And ultimately, they did not go that direction in keeping a bit more recognizability so we really can't know how good or bad that itself might have been had they done so. In the right hands, who knows.

The designs fit the film, and that's easier to see, now.

And Michelangelo sounds exactly the same... The comparison just emphasizes it. They just got a good actor for Mikey.
