I received my copy of the book today. Looks amazing even with the mistakes, Peter pointed out.

There was a delay in getting them into my publisher's office, but that's been squared away and the bulk of them are getting sent over the next two weeks. Thanks for your patience!

I must say I haven't been this happy to read a book in a long time. I thought it was really interesting, even my girlfriend was looking over when she thought I wasn't looking! Well done to everyone involved!

As much as I like Peter Laird and for the most part agree with his views on the TMNT franchise, I have to say his review was little over critical tbh

The book was great, Andrew! Seriously. The layouts, the pictures included, the new things for the fans while trying to go over the entire history in 200 pages, it was all worth every cent. I suggest, for those who are wary, to buy it.

Regarding absence of things like Tales of the TMNT (Volume 2) and Volume 4 comics, I totally understand why a lot of that wasn't included (time and space). Even though I would've liked to see it included, I was secretly it wasn't since I haven't read those issues yet and don't want them spoiled. Hopefully by the time of the 35th anniversary, IDW will have reprinted them.

And to touch on Peter Lairds thoughts, I agree with this post from the Blue Turtle:

Peter Laird is a great guy, had been super influential in the franchises history, and is probably my favorite co-creator (up against Kevin Eastman) for various reasons, but I feel many of his posts were unnecessary. Most didn't have a lot of substance, and as Andrew said, based off of personal preference. When Andrew didn't give a reference to who created that certain picture, usually the illustrators signature was RIGHT there next to their work, so it wasn't very hard to figure out.

And the books did have some errors, but as Andrew said, every book has errors. Especially when you are spanning 30 years with 200 whole pages with so many sources. Very minor things, that should not stop someone from buying this book.

So ... there's my thoughts. Great book.

A creator of the entire series is obviously going to be a lot more critical than fans because he knew exactly what was going on while the whole Turtle franchise was starting and how they struck the deal with the cartoons, etc.

If anything I really wish Peter Laird was given an advanced copy to proofread before this went to print, most of what he critiqued could have bee included or fixed in the book.

Ah, I am in Canada, I guess the equivalent is Chapters/Indigo of which I have seen none. Very disappointed as I don't order online

Peter and my editor and I have traded e-mails since he's seen the book, and he readily admits that he's one of the two people in the world closest to and most protective of the Turtles, but that he's proud to have this book out there and on his shelf. Hope we can file that under "'nuff said" and I can focus on bookplates, conventions, and my next pizza toppings.

Glad to see so much continued excitement about the book, by the way. I figured this would quietly come out, my family would buy about three copies, and that would be the end of it.

The book is truly amazing Andrew! I'm only about half-way through it, but I've loved every page so far. Thank you so much!!!!

Hey Andrew I recently found out (Thanks to Tonemaster21, a member here with a keen eye & photographic memory) that my sewer lair background featured in the book (so I'm told at least, I've avoided previews & would like to continue doing so until I have my copy) is from Season 3's "Turtles On Trial". I dunno if that's something you'd like to note in your revised copy of the book but it's an interesting little factoid. Still trying to figure out the Technodrome one, though. Thought it may have been from Teenagers From Dimension X though I cannot confirm that yet.

I pre-ordered this in December 2013 thinking it would have a couple of cool pictures. Never imagined it would turn out this great.

This thing's worth it's weight in gold. I seriously would have paid WAY more than what I did. I did not expect all those neat inserts. I'm probably going to litter my garage walls with them. It's a beautiful book, with lots of cool stuff I hadn't seen before, or not in a long time at least. I loved how it wasn't a TMNT ass-kiss fest and featured honest opinions from everyone interviewed. Great stuff. (I will say I was confused and disappointed by the abundance of Back to the Sewer content in the 4kids section. I would have rather seen more early stuff, and Fast Forward.)

Regardless, excellent book. Easily trumps IDW's Ultimate Collection and Eastman's Artobiography as my new coffee table book.

I got a copy of this today (along with the Artobiography, never owned a copy) and just put it down long enough to chime in with great I think it is. I love having something TMNT that is such high quality with all the great info, foldouts and extras. Thanks for all the hard work that obviously went into this project!

Contributor copies are starting to arrive, and the folks I interviewed are finally getting a look at the book this week. I got a very sweet note from Renae Jacobs, who voiced April O'Neil in the 1980s cartoon, and praise from other TMNT alumni like David Wise, Stephen Murphy (writing on behalf of his good buddy Dean Clarrain), Jake Black, and plenty of others are thrilled with it.

Peter Laird's just finished signing a big stack of bookplates for me, and those are off to Kevin Eastman, then me, then I'll let everyone here know when they're available.

Still figuring out pricing--I'm thinking that the standard "just Andrew Farago" bookplate will probably go for $10 in the U.S., since I can tuck that into a standard US Mail envelope and send it out with a regular stamp.

What would you guys expect to pay for a bookplate signed by both Eastman and Laird? Obviously that number plus $50 would get you the bookplate pasted into a copy of the book, but I'll offer the plate by itself, too, for those of you who've already bought a copy. I'll also do a super-deluxe copy that has the signed bookplate and will include an original sketch by me featuring your favorite TMNT character(s).

My wife gave birth to our son on Sunday morning, so I'm still adjusting to that, but hope to get moving on signed books, bookplates, etc. a bit later in the month.

Thanks!

Don't suppose you ship out of the US by any chance. And congratulations to you newborn son. Being a parent is the best.
