I honestly don't think Bay had anything to do with her firing. He just never came across as that kind of person, easily offended, considering the crap he has to put up with angry internet fan boys. I'm pretty sure it was his boss's idea and decision on the Transformers movies!

According to IMDB, yes, he's one of the executive producers, and will be a major producer of the upcoming 5th movie as well.
