im not buying this "Embargo" no movie has ever had some sort of blocking of reviews once it gets some sort of relese


unless someone is paying of someone else not to release stuff

Bro...there isn't anything to 'buy'...it's not unheard of that studios will ask professional reviewers to hold on publishing their impressions until after the main release.

Now where people are getting this info about the embargo being lifted is shady to me because there have not been sources listed...it could just be speculation again made by over zealous fans who are predicting things and listing them as facts ::cough, cough:: a certain twitter user, lol.

Yeah, embargoes are common for movies. There's no conspiracy there. I will say that the closer the embargo lift date to the release date, typically the worse the movie is.

That definitely does happen, but my guess is not in this case simply because they didn't actually finish the film until shortly after the SDCC concluded, so as deadlines go, they were cutting it super close.

They usually have the Embargo lifted after an official premiere, That doesn't mean the movie is bad. Its just the studio's way holding onto those reviews until the actual premiere is done. You can bet a lot of major film critics are at the LA premiere tonight.

I agree.. But for this film they literally JUST finished it. So I don't think it really has anything to do with it being good or bad imo.

Agreed, but that won't stop people from assuming that this movie is bad bc reviews are not already out.

Yes embargoes are a common practice. When a film doesn't screen for critics is when you know it's really bad. Looks like the studio has some confidence in this. 3 more hours till reviews on the east coast.

Yeah, The fact the studio is lifting the embargo a few days before the film's release can be a good sign.

Yes it is.. it will never die. It gets extremely redundant after months and months of it. Some are just fully dedicated to invalidating this thing. But at least everyone is being civil tonight,

pictures are still being posted..its about 6:43 so movie should start any second (based on eastern time) id say movie gets out at ten (speeches and whatnot) reviews trickle all night?

I'm just waiting for this movie to be released next week, because then I can see all of the talented gifs! (Sometimes the trailers are moving at such super sonic speeds, it's hard to see what's going on, and when someone takes those scenes and slows it down, it makes it a bit better) I hope the super speed is just doing that for the trailers due to time constraints, and that the movie will be a more normal pace.

i might be off by an hour, depending run time..but i know usually the hollywood premieres either Director or producer or cast speak a little before its shown

but yea around 10/11 we should start seeing those west coast reveiws

With the week of the film's release upon us, We can expect some of the actors to appear on talk shows and such. Just looked at Guide for Monday and noticed, Megan Fox will be on The Insider after ET, So hopefully some TMNT movie stuff.

I used to fantasize about hanging with the Turtles in their lair and gobbling up pizza with them.
