Wait why is your wife pissed at the film? Or is she just pissed at you in general?

You can just both be pissed and go together anyway.

Or leave her at home and go alone/with friends.

That's not how relationships work

I agree with you completely! EXCEPT for saying it would bomb. It had great potential. I wish that was the route they took. Now we have to wait for another reboot.

pretty sad if you can't go to the movies because your wife or significant other doesn't like it.

safe to say she wears the pants in the relationship.

Seriously. Character comes first. If you deliver the spectacle but also include really well-written, emotionally genuine character work, there's no reason a new TMNT movie couldn't be a big hit. The most successful comic movies these days do just that.

You sure? Most of the complaints I heard was that this movie might too dark or just another Christopher Nolan ripoff. It's one of those reasons that people thought that movie was going to turn out to be godawful. While everyone was dreading the first few trailers which portrayed a rather dark tone, I was loving it. Which is why I got a bit disappointed to find out later that the film was was in actuality, an action/comedy.

I cant believe anybody thought this looked like it was going to have a dark tone after the trailers came out. The character designs alone were a big give away

I don't think people were expecting a The Dark Knight or The Punisher kind of tone, but I think they were hoping for along the lines of X-Men or Kick Ass, where it has it's comedy and playfulness, but when it needs to be, it's serious and there are consequences when the stakes are high.

Yeah that's what I was hoping for as well. Something with a comedic tone that could still have moments where sh*t gets real so to speak. That's the perfect tone for a tmnt film imo. What I was talking about was all the comments I remember seeing of people saying they think this is going to be the darkest tmnt movie ever. I just could never see where they got that idea from. The character designs looked like clear evidence we wouldn't be getting that. Once I saw turtles rocking sunglasses and puka shell beads I was in doubt it was even going to take itself seriously

This is good news indeed. And a 6/10 from IGN isn't half bad either.

They've always had nostrils, you just couldn't see them.

Eh, not that I've seen. They were always depicted as breathing through their mouths.

eh..... set your standards low enough... and the movie not being a complete piece of crap is already 'shocking by how it is'. I'll wait to see it before making up my mind.

Or maybe it's her car, ever think of that? Or the general idea that people who are married are supposed to do things as a couple? I once got screamed at for going to a strip club without her, NOT because I went, but because I went without her. Don't presume how people's relationships work.

And she's pissed at the movie, for what it's worth. Hates everything she's seen and changes the channel when the trailers come on. Willing to see it on DVD but doesn't want to see it in theaters. I might try and pull a power play and force the issue, but it's not worth it. It's just a movie.

Except turtles do have nostrils. Along with lungs just like us. They use both their mouths and their nostrils to breathe oxygen.

And did you not see this on the first page?

Seems like a very small nitpick if you ask me. You won't even notice them once they start kicking some shell. And of all the things that are wrong with this movie, why focus on nostrils?

The nostrils thing is hilarious. I've always assumed the Turtles had nostrils like everyone else, it's just not drawn on, or in the Live-action movies hard to spot.
