I'd say, as of today, the word of mouth has been "better than I thought it would be" by most people online. The sentiment seems to be that the majority of people are actually enjoying the film.
Regardless of my position, the general response has been positive. Does that make me happy? Obviously not. But this does:

“There’s kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make,” says Bay, who is eyeing a passion project, a documentary on elephant poaching. “I have a lot of stories to tell. And it’s about flexing new muscles.”

I'm extremely happy to see he's putting his efforts into fighting poachers, and will support that film 100%. Hopefully he extends the scope to the exploitation of all animals.

The movie may drop to 3rd next weekend, but it's still likely to do pretty good. It'll make a large enough profit without the extras. With them? Paramount struck a gold mine.
Considering the Nick toon's success, they were already a gold mine.

Come to think of it, this is the first time VASTLY different versions of them will be on the toy shelves side by side with other versions. Nick and Movie toys will be on the shelves in the same area.

The 2007 movie and 2007 TV Show toys were very different.

Plus, there's plenty of "classic versions" you can still buy.

Wow, just because you don't like the movie doesn't mean you have to make up lies. The movie made $94 million worldwide, they made most of their budget back and will make all of it back and then some in the coming weeks. I'm pretty sure they are wicked happy with the results.

Yeah, The film will make a lot of money over seas once the film comes out in some European countries on Sept 11 and on October 17.

He'll probably put explosions and blow up the elephants.

The movie isn't going to be released in china, is it? I hope this does good enough over seas, the last tmnt movie only made around 40$ million over seas, the first tmnt movie did 66$ million over seas.

Hey, hadn't heard about that - sounds like a worthy project! I'd be interested in checking it out, if it gets made.

last night we found out that after a very impressive opening weekend, Paramount has already greenlit a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel. The likes of Casey Jones, Bebop and Rocksteady have already been teased...but could we see Krang and Dimension X too?

What? Their names were on the a Blue Door script.

I just listened to a video about the Blue Door Script, it surprisingly does sound better then what we have now.

If They just changed a few things such as
-Remove the Prophecy
-Remove the turtle's origin from Dimension X
-Remove the April and Casey opening scene
-Remove the odd ability of bouncing everywhere

and add some changes such as
-Add the origin from the original comics. The ooze comes from Dimension X
-Add a opening scene with the turtles. (instead of April and Casey)
-Add a different reason to why they are sucked into Dimension X, that is lore friendly.
-Add intense action scenes that demonstrate the turtle's martial art prowess.

The Blue Door major screw up is the origin and focusing on Casey and April too much.

Raph impaling Krang is badass and would have loved to see that.
They were called in to rewrite their own script? That doesn't make sense.

You don't have to convince me on this one.

I did a rewrite of the script that's right here on these forums. I wholeheartedly agree that the original Blue Door script with certain changes would have made for a better film than what we saw in theaters.

So I guess we can look forward to Dr El making a cameo at some point. LOL!

I would love to see more mutant characters introduced, both bad and good. Leave Krang and Dimension X for a third film (if it get's that far).
