I find if I want something bad enough I get up early in the morning and go to the store as they open the doors. Being self employed helps my situation. Haven't seen any scalpers........ They must be ninjas round my parts.

I've seen that at TRU for a while now. It doesn't look all that great in person.....

Rich, was it the Walmart on 132nd & L again?

The way you get so pissed over them when TMNT figures appear on amazon for retail all the time and not one figure is rare. If you were complaining about Marvel Legends scalpers, I could understand, but this is a line that is extremely easy to find.

People who ONLY collect tmnt figures have it easy. They have no true understanding of the rarity of some figures

I'm glad I don't care about hot wheels. Most of the adults who are in front of Toys R Us when it opens on truck days are there for hot wheels. But some also collect star wars and marvel legends... BUT they always go to the hot wheels section first, haha.

Being Star Wars, Marvel, or Hot Wheels is pain.
Transformers sometimes get pretty hard to find sometimes too.

what i get pissed about is when i go to a TRU to look for a certain figure and find they have been cleaned out since obviously a scalper will buy multiple figures. so not only am i out the figure im looking for but some ***hole got all they had, and can resell them for double sometimes triple what they paid. there is someone on my local craigslist that did that when the movie came out, and i was looking for Raph in Disguise. yes i mostly aim for TMNT, but i also collect YuGiOh cards, Simpsons, Family Guy, Spongebob, Terminator, and movie Transformers my TMNT collection is the biggest but my YuGiOh collection is pretty invested too

i dont want to get into an argument especially in public forum, we are among friends who share the same passion. if i am annoying you i apologize i was venting. i know im not the only who hates them them though

While I am waiting on my Walmart to get more TMNT figures in I have been searching Walgreens for the current Star Wars Black Series 6inch figure wave that has Chewbacca, Jedi Luke, Darth Vader, black pauldron stormtrooper, and walgreens exclusive white boba Fett. They will be hard to get because I am competing against friends, one of which found the Chewbacca (the one I want) at a hard to get to location. Walgreens gets one or two cases at a distribution center and shoves it between 12 locations in my area. Meanwhile I have seen other walgreens pictures on the net that have gotten a few cases at one instead of a trickling of 2 figures per store.

I am not dealing with scalpers, so much as I am dealing with fellow collectors.

Collecting Star Wars is suffering.

Playmates has the best distrubution for an action figure line, though.

deep breath man..they are just toys

a lot of times stores restock based on the area..and even weekly restock wouldnt be affected by sale of one figure.

also remember while walgreens may have the exclusive they are more a pharmacy store than toy store

i work at gamestop, we get daily shipment and you should see the random crap we get vs the actual stuff people want

also right now any non specific specialty store..will be getting christmas stock..(ex khols employee) and even if they have TMNT toys they may not choose to put them out till after halloween

Comic Turtles from Playmates

I just realized that the comic Leonardo from Playmates, at least in the single pack version, does not come with a sword sheath. I know that Leonardo did not always have a sheath in Mirage, but including one would have been nice. Just another instance of Playmates cutting corners. I do appreciate their cheap prices, but I want quality. It's just so hard to say no though. If we keep buying these toys, Playmates will never change. They will probably just get cheaper and cheaper. I realize these are for kids, but I doubt most parents would want to buy their kids comic Turtles, when they already have the Nick ones to begin with. I am just tired of people complaining, and then buying up all the figures anyway. I am just as guilty as anyone else though.

EDIT: I know none of the other turtles had weapon holders in Mirage, but I remember that the NECA Leonardo came with a sheath. These new figures do not hold a candle to those, just looking at them from a purely objective point view, irregardless of price or who they are aimed. I know this is obvious, because the Playmates ones are a fraction of the cost and marketed towards kids, but as a collector, there is little reason to get them.

You forgot to mention 'no wrist articulation.'

If these were any cheaper they would come unpainted on cheap model kit sprues with stickers for you to assemble.

So basically, like an SD Gundam kit? Now that I have had time to think about it, I am done complaining. I feel that that's all I hear about on this forum now, even though I will admit that basically all of our complaints are totally valid. I will probably end up getting these, because I am considering selling my NECAs because even though they are so awesome, having $300 would be pretty good too.

EDIT: Please don't take my comments the wrong way. I really do enjoy coming on here, I guess I am just tired of hearing about all the mistakes Playmates is making, because they make so many. LOL

It is blatantly obvious from that pic (and others) that those scratches were designed to have the black paint app used to highlight the comic artwork. I don't imagine it being too difficult to add the black, giving the figures a more comic book look.
