I would love for Raph to be the one to go to her and say, "Pick who you want and get it over with" as that would be awesome. But I do think she's leaning more toward Donnie based on the kiss and I hope that's true, too.

This version of Don drives me nuts now!

He doesn't seem very tranquil anymore like he was in past incarnations. But I don't think that will ever happen again.

I know whatcha mean. As much as I love Rob Paulsen's voice work, the way Don's always spazzing out over every little thing that happens just seems so uncharacteristic. If anything Mikey's become the tranquil one this time around.

This alone is why Donnie is favored by me for this incarnation. I like this quirk and for this version and reimagining of the turtles, it definitely works for him, imo. One of my favorite moments, was in the Gauntlet episode. I like how he snapped when the other three were going on about being careful and stuff while diffusing the bomb. I love those kinds of quirks and his sarcasm, as well as his honesty (you know, one moment he'll say something like, "Everything will be fine" and then something happens, "or not") and Rob is good at voicing these types of characters. It's great, imo.

Same with why I favor Leo for this version. He's not coming across as perfect, but as a character with actual flaws.

I don't mind Donnie spazzing out this version. Can you really blame him? He's gotta stay on top of technology, have plenty of medical knowledge to create treatments for anything from venom to mutations, design and build vehicles and gadgets with scraps of garbage for possible scenarios the team may need in the future, make repairs and upgrades on said vehicles and gadgets after missions. All while keeping up with training with his brothers and wrestling his feelings for April in these teenage years.

Leo comes close with being team leader, coming up with battle strategies and training his team. Raph focuses on new ways to punch guys, and Mikey goofs around. And they kinda take what Don does for granted. 'Hey Don, your the smart one. Hurry up and figure out this unknown alien tech.'

Speaking from experience, having such a heavy workload like that is really stressful and keeping a calm attitude is very hard.

Yes! I loved that. When Donnie freaks out, it's actually funny.

I still find it ironic how Metalhead kept grabbing Mikey by the face and how Bigfoot (another Donnie connection) was grabbing him by the face. Donnie has willed it!

It works pretty well for a character "flaw" in this one imo. Donnie is brilliant but he just doesn't deal well under pressure, there's no shame in that.

People are saying that Donnie's emotional outbursts aren't very geek-like. To counter that, you could say that falling for a beautiful girl and putting her on a pedestal while feeling that you will lose her to a jock are very geek-like.

Isn't the cliche the "popular girl" that all the boys seem to be into? I don't get that impression with April at all...then again, limited CG animation...

Lol that was sort of the point of my reply before I read yours. Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks it's because of a lack of other girls there. If April had been in a group of lasses when Donnie met her he'd probably have fallen for one of the others. Basic probability.
