It couldn't be Brandon Auman, could it?

I don't know. But, the consistency and quality I feel, overall, has dropped from Season one to Season 2. Now, season 2 had some great episodes like Slash and Destroy, and Wrath of Tigerclaw. Season 3, had moments in it, but so far, the entire episodes were meh for me. Even the season 2 finale, anything to deal with The Shredder, the Turtles, the Foot and Leo's beat down, was awesome. But the Krang crap I felt, kind of ruined it, because it was just too out there. Think about it, we have an invasion going on, everywhere, from the sewers, city streets, back alley ways and whatnot, but yet, during Leo's beat down, none of that stuff could be seen. It's like we had two totally different episodes mixed in together.

I know I love Season 3 so far. The music, the tone, the story is very entertaining. I enjoy the movie references. Ninja turtles used to be and always is about the easter eggs/references to other pop culture stuff. I really like season 3 because of the entertainment and the different style it has. By style I mean how the music is composed, how the camera angles are, the character designs, and sometimes the plot (despite some negative bits like plotholes). The seasons before it, the filler episodes were rather dull and had a villain who wasnt entertaining. Season 3 is just entertaining, all the way through.

I wonder what would been like if the writers from season 1 did season 2? Would it been worth it?

Really? That's the first I'm hearing about this. I thought it was about a group of mutant brothers who are trained to try and help those in need, but would never see the rewards because of who they are? I don't remember too manyu easter eggs/ references back in the 80's toon.

Wasn't that the episode where they brought in a guy who used to write for the 2k3 show?

Well, aren't we supposed to be getting some sort of vision quest thing? I'm wondering if it's going to be an expanded story of when the Turtles in the 1990 movie had their little campfire.

Dude, that is too deep for ninja turtles lol. The 80s cartoon had tons of pop culture references. 80s cartoon referenced Jason Vorhees, Aliens, Batman, and other stuff I cant remember. So did the original comics. Ninja turtles is basically a parody comedy that has some family drama mixed in.

And I don't remember that crap. The stuff that stood out, or was most memorable, seemed to have it's own thing.

No such thing as "too deep" when it comes to the TMNT. The comics are chock full of heavy themes, not just Mirage's, but Archie's & (slowly but surely) IDW's too.

I feel like that will be the last thing in they do in Northampton. I'm going to guess it's right after the Punk Frogs episode. I'm thinking this will be the last part of Leo's healing process. In the clip, Leo doesn't get to say much, but he's doing a lot.

Yeah, the OT had a lot of pop-culture references, the most well-known one being Fly Baxter. It was paying homage to the recent, at the time, remake of The Fly with Jeff Goldbloom.

Nightmare on Elm Street was referenced.

Phantom of the Opera

Most of the sci-fi elements could be referenced back to an old film

Definitely Aliens (first season mutants which also appeared in Turtles in Time and Hyperstone Heist)

Murder She Wrote/Agatha Christie with April's aunt.

Batman like you said (which is one of my all-time favorite OT eps period...an insane bloodthirsty Donatello on a rampage to kill Shredder is just awesome!)

Hm, maybe even Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. lol

Who knows, but there were a lot, my mind is just blank at the moment. I like those kinds of homages and easter eggs. May also explained why I loved Animaniacs so much. I loved the jokes and the homages the show did.

Can someone tell me what happened in the Vision Quest clip? I'd really like to know.

Also, do you guys think they're taking a break? We've had 6 weeks of new episodes, so it seems like Nick and their horrendous scheduling would take a break. Plus, we have no confirmation of a new episode on Friday.

I understand what you're saying but on the flip side there are those who are constantly demanding that past TMNT characters and story lines get an appearance in the new show. The vast majority of people on this forum have at least mentioned that 'I'd like so-and-so to show up' or that 'I really hope they do a version of that episode/comic strip'.

So I don't see how we can complain about them ripping off other franchises or films when we as a fanbase are demanding TMNT rehashes on a daily basis.

Besides, not everyone is going to get the references. Not everyone watches horror films. We can get the gist, but not necessarily go, "Oh, that's from that film."
