I was pretty pissed that they didn't show a rerun yesterday. My little bro wanted to watch one before Rebels came on.

Budget concerns, competition concerns, current standards, etc...

We'll get 7 seasons and a DTV movie. Just like 4kids.

You keep saying that, but man I don't know. I think four seasons will be this show's run.

Four seasons would be good. Both of the cartoons before this one went waaaaaaaaaay too long.

This show has barely scratched the surface of TMNT lore. We still haven't:

- Had outerspace adventures, or the intro of Triceratons/Fugitoid

- Time travel stories, going to prehistoric dinosaurs, the future, ancient Japan

- Mystical or magical elements, only just starting now

- Some type of tournament episode, like Battle Nexus or Stump Astroid

- Human criminals and mobsters or gangs

If they would cut back on mutant of the week there's tons to do

Yeah, two season down and there's still a long ways they can go with this story. I mean the characters are just barely starting to come into their own.

Ciro said he wants 5 seasons to tell the story. I think that's enough.

He said he would like to make at least 5 seasons. If the show is still successfull by then, you can bet he won't say no to making more especially since its a job and thus $$$.

This isn't Avatar.

I personally don't think they'd cancel TMNT any time soon, it's to popular, Nick has to know that, the toy and movie sales alone show that. If they cancel it anyway, their idiots, especially after all the money they spent on the property.

And on the reruns front, I agree, that is a load of bull, but then, it's on NickToons, and sure not everyone has that, but most families with kids do, or at least a good number of them do, I mean, I know several families who do anyway. lol

But the advertising, there's no excuse for that, I really never see anything advertising TMNT so I do agree I don't know what they're thinking with that, I mean, like I said, they must know how incredibly popular TMNT is, they'd be idiots not to know.

Because Avatar ended because the creators wanted it to end at 61 episodes, not because of ratings. in TMNT's case the writers probably would like to keep going as much as possible, it isn't intended to be a one and done thing.

It was probably a good idea for it to end, a fourth season would sort of undermine what they had going, that's why the sequel is set 70 years later with mostly new characters.

Not to mention, Avatar was actually a fairly big gamble to begin with, how many shows are cancelled before they even get a third season? If things went different it could have ended with Azula usurping the Earth King, it could even have ended with season 1, think about that.

Also, even if I do hope they get more than 4 seasons, I don't want them to shove the characters into the far future for no reason or something to that effect...

Edit: If you keep things going and going without conclusion, you may very well risk making things stale or ending on a cliffhanger.

How well is TMNT doing on Amazon, Itunes and other places where people can just buy the series/episodes. That too could guarantee it's future, no matter what the nielsens say. Plus, I am seeing tons of Turtle's stuff at the grocery store. Fruit Roll Ups, yogurt, Popsecret (the Raphael kettle corn one is really good!) so, it's obvious the thing is popular. Just maybe the TMNT viewers are more smarter and tech savvy than the viewers's of Nicks more popular shows, and know how to get around watching it on TV, so that's why TMNT's numbers are low!

This as well. I wish the Nick app would have a view count, that would give an accurate rating count.

I'm sure when they get late into a series they'll write every season like it could be the last. The 4kids series wrote both the Season 3 and 5 finale's as possible "series enders" because they weren't sure at the time if the series was going to be renewed. The 2k3 series could have ended at the end of Season 3 or 5 and most plotlines at the time would have been wrapped up.

Actually, I think this is why they were having the episodes shown online for a while, they were probably trying to use the data to back up their claims to markerters that the nielsen ratings are off compared to what is really going on.

Then, I am going to assume that the marketers weren't buying it, maybe thinking the same people were watching the episodes over and over, so now Nick wants online viewers to use their provider (At&T, Time Warner, etc) to access the online content. In turn, now they are getting ISP numbers and ruling out the fact that the same person is watching mutliple times, but instead showing multiple households are now watching.

I just hate how they air it all the ****ing time and it's usually the godawful new episodes.

Yes, I'm aware of how much ratings Spongebob reruns pull(and it makes me weep for humanity a little) but I prefer my channels to have variety.

I ****ing hate money...

I think the internet is one of the reasons the show's ratings have gone down. I recently saw a leaked Foot Too Big on Youtube that had nearly 500,000 views, and those videos are taken offline fairly quickly. Then I think putting the episodes on Nick's site a week early permanently damaged the ratings; it was an unbelievably poor business choice.
But I've got a list of many reasons I think the show is losing ratings:

1. unsatisfying fans (not me, as I'm still as into TMNT 2k12 as I was in the first season)
2. episodes leaked online
3. Nick putting them online a week early for a few episodes
4. Bad word of mouth about the series
5. Jason Biggs's departure
6. scattered plots
7. Confusing time changes
8. Poor promotion
9. other shows attracting fans
10. People getting bored with it
11. People dropping cable in favor of Netflix
12. Fans not knowing about upcoming episodes
13. A few bad episodes like Pizza Face, Chinatown Ghost Story, and A Foot too Big
14. The love triangle straining the plot
15. The lack of a turtle tots episode (at least I want one!)
Etcetera, etcetera. I just thought these up off the top of my head, but I don't know why people are dropping the show because I still love it wholeheartedly.

Sad thing. On Nick.com. TMNT seems to be hidden amongst lots of Spongebob, Cat and Sam, and Korra. I find something for TMNT being promoed on the 6th page. Maybe Nick doesn't want TMNT to succeed anymore.
