In defense of the creators, I think this is what might be happening. We all know they have to create a certain amount of mutants/creatures for the toyline (15 I think is the magic number) so they are trying to get as many of that out of the way the first half of the season so the primary plot isn't so broken up by filler when they finally dive into it.

I'm ok with the filler if it's good . The only episode I don't like in season 3 is " A Foot too Big "

Really excited for the Dream Beavers episode for sure, though I'm also curious about the Punk Frogs episode, too. Only one week to go.

Sorry for pulling a Donnie here, but technically you could only say it's one week to go by Halloween.

They really should have just air Dream Beavers during Halloween though, seems fitting for the horror theme.

Oh, I totally agree with that. It would be so awesome if they did that, but I think they're taking into account that kids may be trick-or-treating during that time so they probably wouldn't stay home and watch an episode.

..hmm.......

I hate to be the negative nancy again (and a broken record), but I think Casey and Donnie have had enough episodes to bond already.

I still think we need more Raph and Casey now (or Casey and Mikey/Leo)

It seems kinda unfair for Donnie to hog all the human interactions from the other turtles. (I'll never not be concerned about it until it's solved)

Actually the reference is to the truck Don/Casey were fixing in the first movie in the barn, anyone remember?

Personally I think that's just way too easy. We know Raph and Casey have a great relationship. That's a given with every single version of the characters. Let's see a different dynamic and friendship build between polar opposites. Far more interesting imo.

I wouldn't have minded if Donnie wasn't already close with April.....

Maybe Casey and Mikey could have been cool if they wanted to do something different.

need to spread the love.

I don't mind this one though, because this one is actually based off something that was done in the past. If they ever planned a bond scene with Donnie & Casey, this is the one they should do since they're right there in Northampton.

Makes no sense to throw away this opportunity to pay another 1990 movie moment and not do this particular bond scene.

I guess so, still...I hope we see more of Raph and Casey being buds soon.

Yeah. That's the first thing I thought of. This is a nod to the original movie. As a kid, I liked that part of the film.

Getting down to it, even for that film, there really wasn't much Raph and Casey. There was Casey and April scenes, Casey and Raph (when they first met and fought, like the one shot), and then scenes like working on the truck with Donny while insulting each other.

You don't hate it enough to just let it be, evidently.

You know what would be cool? If the mutant of the week episodes were character development stories with the characters acutally learning a lesson at the end. The Speed Demon one sounds like it could be like that.

They already are. They have no qualms or issues between them at all. There's actual conflict between Donnie and Casey, though, even if it does feel contrived at times. *coughs*Chinatown Ghoststory *coughs*

That aside, at least the show is doing it's own thing from a scene from the past. Personally, I'm actually looking forward to this even more, since I liked that scene in the movie. Casey working on the truck since season 3 started I felt was a nice throwback to movie 1. Quite nostalgic. ^^

Hehehe, there goes Luckyday's hopes that April destroys Donnie's heart by going steady with Casey, and in sort of a twisted rebound, Donnie goes and buys a car.

Agree, and with the thought of this episode having lots of references to the hot rodding Neutrinos, when I think of the Neutrinos, Mikey is the first one come to mind. I was hoping this show would be different and showcase that Raphael also knows about vehicles like he does in the comics, but they just want to keep him as the stereotypical big and tough, but dumber than a box of rocks.

And in the comics, it was Raph and Casey! The creators were so quick to follow panel by panel for the Leo one shot, but when it comes to actually developing Raph's character outside of the angry Turtle, they decided to just ignore it.

Or, like I said, here is a chance to actually be different from what has already been there, done that in a viewing experience, and actually take an opportunity to follow a story that was in the comics but not yet shown in motion, such as Raph and Casey working on the truck and tossing insults at eachother (which would be more in character for Raph than for Donnie)

But, oh I forgot, the producers have a hard on for Donnie, so the best way to show that is to steal stories and plot lines from Raph and give them to Donnie. Forget Raph, he's just fodder for the show.

But, I guess it's for the best, if Raph has an episode, I hope it's more serious and not so ridiculous.

I always loved that scene too, especially the alphabetical insults. Actually looking forward to Speed Demon. I'm hoping they delv a bit into the origins of this demonic entity, even if it's a throw away line or two.
