Getting down to it, even for that film, there really wasn't much Raph and Casey. There was Casey and April scenes, Casey and Raph (when they first met and fought, like the one shot), and then scenes like working on the truck with Donny while insulting each other.

Well, in the movie, they probably had to go this route because Raph was still knocked out. But in the comics, it was Raph and Casey working on the truck, and now in this version, it would have been perfect to show some bonding time between Raph and Casey (because there really hasn't been any since the first time they met back in the Meet Casey Jones ep) and have them work on the truck. Or yet, here is an even better idea, maybe have Casey, Donnie and Raph work on the truck! But I guess the writers are too unoriginal and uncreative to think outside the box.

I still feel it's obvious why they're using Donnie instead of Raph. Casey and Donnie have conflict. Makes sense for them to bond. Casey and Raph are always shown getting along for this incarnation and both boys' temperaments are way milder than they've ever been compared to previous incarnations. Seems they bonded over their anger issues and tempers because it helped them understand one another better.

It's just not there for this incarnation.

Well then, why not have Donnie and Raph be the ones working on the car? Raph and Donnie are the least paired Turtles with the least bonding, across the entire TMNT universe? Maybe Casey's car breaks down, he gets upset and goes into the house to blow off some steam. Raph goes and gets Donnie and they try to see what's wrong with the car, and eventually Donnie touches something that gets him possessed.

And oh, Casey and Raph really don't get along. It seems no matter what Casey does, he seems to piss Raph off more than anything, from the Newtralized episode to the Invasion episode, which would be the last eps where both were supposed to be "bonding"

Anyways, people are just getting sick of the Donnie show. It's getting old, real fast. If they are going to make him centric, I would rather him be teamed up with one of his brothers, and not one of the humans.

I have to agree. I'm getting sick of the amazing adventures of Donnie approach to this series.

I think I might know how this Speed Demon episode will play out after reading that:

Maybe in the Dream Beavers or the Punk Frogs episode, Casey will start to think that Donnie and April are going to be a couple. So, being the show-off pig that the writers are making him out to be, he decides to get a car. Typical teenage boy logic: hot cars win hot girls.

Problem: he isn't quite as good at fixing up vehicles as Donnie is. So, he tricks Donnie into helping him fix up to car. Donnie thinks that Casey just wants to have an extra set of wheels in case of emergency. (Pretty understandable, given the circumstances). So he agrees to help and while Donnie and Casey fix up the car, Casey makes attempts to either get info about April out of Donnie and maybe try to put some doubt in his head about whether or not April would REALLY want to be with him OR to get Donnie to just give up on April all together.

While they do this, Casey learns that Donnie actually is a pretty cool guy when they're not fighting about April. He gets to know more about Donnie on a "bromance" sort of level and starts to feel guilty of trying to "steal" April. (Considering April is even interested in Donnie).

Then...the possessing thing comes into play and it's up to Casey to set things right. I'm still going with my "cursed token" theory.

Speaking of the nature elements being hinted for season 3, I found this pic from an old Japanese line of turtle toys. Their elements are some different here with the exception of Leo still being wind.

Yeah, those are the Mutant Masters figures. They came out in the US towards the end of the OT's run. I owned one (Mikey, I think...?) back in the day, but I lost the pieces. XD

I really hope they do something with Casey talking to Donnie and actually getting to know one another for a change. Bonding over working on a car could happen.

Since this is what I predicted, the exact opposite will happen in the show. That seems to be the theme here. I make a LOGICAL predicition; the show goes in a WHOLE new direction. I predicted that Bigfoot was going to kidnap Donnie and take him into the woods to be her mate. But I guess I went a bit overboard with that...

Even though that sounds a tiny bit ridiculous, it does sounds like something that the writers would make.

Hey it was a good idea and would have still made a good story. It's just not ththe story the writers went with.

With the whole Casey and Donnie bonding over the car thing. I am one of the people who see the Donnie/April/Casey thing as being a mirror to the Oroku Saki/Tang Shen/Hamato Yoshi thing. But I think in the case of the former triangle it's going to be what should have happened in the latter one. With one of them accepting that the girl at the center of it has made her choice and being better for it.

I think that could come into play with part of the Dream Beavers thing while the Turtles are unable to wake up and Casey begins to see that April has chosen Donnie. So maybe the whole helping with the car is his way of probably getting some idea as to why April had chosen him. Kinda sorta trying to see what April sees.

And since Donnie has said Casey is like having a second Raphael maybe there will be a moment of Raph/Donnie bonding included.

Not really. I mean sounds silly but then you think about it, it does sounds like something that Casey would so do it's very in character.

To be really honest what you wrote in the middle sounds really interesting and could be a great Casey centric episode. If anything you should try to write this a fanfic incase the real thing isn't as good on television.
