Of course not! Karen looks indeed way prettier and more April-like. I agree totally with you, just don't wanted asking for too much...

Soooo, aside from our new April, and losing Johnny Obnoxious, what else would be good fixes?
I've ranted more than once over the turtles design, so I won't bore anyone with that again, but what else could be a positive change for the sequel!

I'm sure more than a few of the folks involved are lurking around, taking notes

I agree about april but I really didn't mind Johnny Knoxville voicing leo I really couldn't even tell it was him. I actually think Leo was my favorite in this movie.

Well... it's simply my opinion on it (granted I'm far from alone), and it's not my intention to debate it or anything, and can't hold it against those with different favorite Turtles for feeling it was fine, but to my ear it's about the equivalent to what it might be to Raph fans if they made Raph sound like the state of Georgia or where ever instead of the Bronx, and stuck in one tone the entire time. (How about cheerful Georgia Raph, whole movie.) There were moments Knoxville worked ok, where his tone was fitting, but outside of that there was, imo, a lot missing and it left me feeling like they just didn't really care all that much in terms of choosing his voice "talent."

An average young-ish northeast male voice of average depth, that can provide actual acting that includes variation in demeanor and shows the kindness in him sometimes should not be that hard to do...

Edit: Honestly I'm wishing they'd have held off and tried Knoxville as a villain for 2016 or something instead, if he must be involved. Rocksteady maybe, if they were going to have him and Bebop be a bit bumbling like back in the day...he could have played up his goofy jackassness in that case and made it an asset.

I'm a hardcore Leo fan AND an obnoxiously New Yorky New Yorker, yet I thought he was totally fine. I didn't notice a drawl at all. Granted, I was not sober.

My mistake, I had her confused with another actress...Shame on me!
Still...Rashida is fine looking and a great actress, but my point about Karen was that she looks eerily like the FW April, more than most, AND has a sense of FUN in her acting, a liveliness, that I enjoy.

Also, Rashida seems to play the same character a little too often, and that character is often darker and more sarcastic than I think April should be.

Well this thread is about fixing the things most of us didn't like.

That's why I don't like Gillan, as far as looks go, she far to plain. Her and Megan Fox are just cookie cutter Hollywood stars. Jones is in the same category as Judith Hoag; they're pretty, but in a different way. But anyway, this shouldn't be about looks, and it bothers me when that's all fans "cast" by, it about how one can portray the character April O'Neil. I guess I depends on your own preferences of how you like to see April portrayed, I prefer the matronly, older April.

Karen Gillan can go suck Pond water.
