Well you said: Mikey being an idiot (again), his brothers getting mad at him (again) only for him to save the day in the end (again).

But is this something that will really happen or could it also be that he really does something, like injuring Leo or being fed up with everyone treating him like a goofball and all?

We don't really know from that clip. All we know is what we've been shown, but Mikey could do something else that makes the others upset at him causing him to run away. We'll have to wait until the ep airs tomorrow to find out.

That's the usual routine for Mikey episodes.
It'll most likely happen, he messes up the living room and everyone gets mad at him. That's what we see in the promo.

I haven't even seen the promo. Just going by what was said in the thread, but I'm still not going to judge it until I see it. Who knows, may turn out to be another Shellacne situation...sort of.

That's definitely not gonna happen. From what I've been told the people working on this series hate the 4Kids series. Kinda explains why Ciro got mad and left when CyberCubed brought it up in the Baxter Stockman episode thread.

Did they hate it because it got bad later or do they hate the 90's "everything must be extreme!" attitude? Maybe it was the voice casting?

They couldn't possible hate the writers.

I'm assuming it's mostly because of the way 4Kids belittled the original cartoon, but then again that's just my theory.

Well that probably what it is. I don't think they would hate the show for having a serious tone and introspective moments.

Ciro himself originally wanted the show to be darker.

That was my reason for hating it. Well, Donnie and Leo sounded ok, but Raph? The only time his voice matched his character was the SAINW episode where he was SUPPOSED to sound like a gruff, 40-something man. And Karai drove me up the wall. I don't know whether or not the VA was Asian, but you could tell they were REALLY pushing the accent on her. My sister-in-law is from Indonesia and while she has an accent, I'd be scared to death to show her that cartoon for fear of it being offensive to her. (She's also a doctor, so she's very well spoken.) That's why I like how Kelly Hu just uses her regular accent so she can focus more on the character instead of sounding Japanese.

As for the writing, well there were some good episodes, I won't lie. But the way the lines were delivered was like having C-class actors doing a scene from "King's Speech" or "Citizen Kane." The script is good, but the way it's portrayed is mediocre. Once Shredder became an Utrom, I pretty much gave up on it. (Which is ironic since SAINW was post-Shredder Beheading and that's my favorite episode.)

That same problem that I had with it as well. I didn't like voice cast all that much. To me, Mikey was the worst. Nails on a chalkboard, my god.

It would such a crime if this nick show can never get to that level of writing because it now has such an amazing voice cast that actually can deliver the lines.

There few times when it can but I feel that this show is holding itself back from character development and story arcs.

I now wonder how this show would've fared on something like Cartoon Network as opposed to Nickelodeon. Do you think the writing style would be different or that the series would be slightly darker or would've been from the get-go? Do you think the show airing wise would've been treated better than Nickelodeon's treatment of the show? Or do you think it probably would've been the same regardless?

It's hard to say but Cartoon Network has the means to supply a good voice cast but they also have a tendency to put their shows in different time slots, which is annoying.

I can say this for sure, base on new shows we had lately with Over the Garden Wall, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Amazing World of Gumball, the writers would have more freedom do what they want and even experiment if they feel like it.

Since Ciro had connections with Teen Titans, we would have something like this.
