any one else notice that the 2014 movie toys only got one wave of figures

i mean turtles toys usually get standard and variant figures

also side characters

and movies usually get way more toys than one wave

I just want my movie Karai. I don't think the line sold well at all though.

If they didn't sell well it's probably cause they're just really crappy looking toys. I remember jumping out of my skin when seeing the line finally on shelves & getting my wallet ready. Then I got a look at them. They're not movie accurate and look cheap as sh*t (even the April is ugly). The box art is cool but can't picture many kids going nuts for the figures themselves. I wish NECA would do a separate line (they're the masters of affordable movie-accurate figures).

I was thinking about this recently. There isn't really enough material left in the movie to create a second series. There's Vernon and Karai. But neither of them is likely to sell a lot of figures. The Turtles never have any costume changes or any significant alternative appearance. At best, had they not made the Evolution box sets for Target, they could do the Teen versions of the four Turtles.

I don't think the movie line was very popular, anyway. I had a hard time finding April and Raph in disguise for a while, but I see them everywhere now.

Noticed that the movie figures are now being released w/ a NEW card back.

If in fact they didn't sell well, it all comes down to the design. Only way to truly tell if the new design worked is through the toy sales.

Personally, new design leaves much to be desired. But, thats a rant for another thread. People bought tickets out of curiosity. But if their kids didn't ask for the toys over the Nick toys, then its all about the design. I mean, take any pic from the new movie and their head size is the same size as 1/6 of their plastron. wtf, no wonder they got so many movie figs left over w/ new card backs and no new figs or wave 2.

On the other hand, I may be ignorant as I can be, and they were a huge success. Doesn't matter, movie was made, new designs are a reality now, no Batman Begins style reboot after all, still got 1990 CLASSIC movie and now, figs as current end all to all turtle movies and figs.

They must have sold well in my area, especially near Christmas time. They're virtually all gone. And I see parents picking up TMNT stuff left and right. We no longer have any of the original release.

i just find it weird..i mean even the 2007 movie got variants of the turtles...like i guess ive never seen a turtles line "do this bad" if it did...as someone said ive noticed that the nick line flies off the shelf while the movie line are peg warmers
