Awesome. The award is well deserved.

So when I saw it, It didn't live up to the 9/10 ratings that many claimed for it to be, so I came out extremely disappointed.

But When I watched it a second time with my brother a few days ago, I actually kind of liked it more, but nonetheless it still wasn't as good I hoped it to be. I honestly think that hype in general ruins everything.
That's a big reason why I give most things that are "super popular" and super hyped about a year before I bother with them. People criminally overrate AND underrate things when it's fresh and they're "In The Moment". It's a scientific fact and it's just human nature. I don't like to be subliminally influenced by what other people say, and it's easier for me to judge something as it "Really" is if I watch/listen to/play it after everyone else has already moved on from it.

Case in point: "Avatar" is just really, really, really okay. I only saw that about a year ago for the first time. It's fine, but at the end of the day, after all the hype... it was JUST made to sell blu-Ray players. People definitely swallowed the hype hook, line and sinker on THAT one. It's fine but I'unno when I'll ever watch it again.

It's just easier to have a "real" perspective on things when your thoughts are really your own, not being filtered through the noise of what everyone else is squawking in your ear.
