I don't know how to feel about my plan to buy these Mystic Turtle figures. On one hand, the paint apps are horrible and they're not really worth the money, but on the other hand I'd really love to customize 'em. Hm...maybe I'll just get one to start out with and see where it goes from there.

the non painted feet on the mystic turtles is one of the worst paint offenses i have seen in this line.

yeah, that's right. i'm never going to stop complaining about the paint. it irritates me SO much.

I guess they think they can not paint the feet since you don't see the feet when the figures are still packaged.

it's a really scummy move.

I unpacked one of my Stiockman Fly figures. I gave it to our head of art yesterday, along with a print out if the image shown on playmates web site.

I've asked him to touch up those details that are sadly not there. He was only too happy to do this. Turns out he's a Turtles fan from the 80s!!!

I should be getting this back today. I'll post pics when I do.

I'm guessing, if he pulls this off, he might like to do the Mystic set.
Another set that could be enhanced with painting up their detailing , is the LARP set.

The sketch is gone. They took it down.

I wish they had dropped molding the arrow onto Mystic Leo's bow, I get the safety restrictions, but... Just don't have a string on the bow.

I think I recall seeing a Fugitoid sketch somewhere not all that long ago too. I did some searching but couldn't locate it.

I'm still waiting to see the pics of the Shredder Mutant figures. Anyone else see them yet? I looked for the TMNT 4 ever group on FB but couldn't find the page. Maybe it was a scam to get people to join the group? lol

I wish I knew an art student who could paint the latest figures. You are lucky.

I will say that the LARPing Turtles have details missing, but they are fine compared to the Mystic Turtles. It is not going to kill me if Don's pockets aren't painted. I am perfectly fine with the figures as they are.

Speaking of Fugitoid anybody peep Donatello's belt strap on his interactive talking turtle figure?

It's a weird thing. Back in 2003 Splinter had came with a bow with an arrow and string attached to it. And while you can't fire the arrow as an projectile, it allows you to "fire" the arrow while it's still attached to the string. Guess it just cost too much now.

I should not have called it a sketch. It was a promotional shot for a online game or digital comic. I last saw it on Google Image in 2013.

There has been no material for the Nick series that includes Fugitoid. He was brought back in the IDW comics, perhaps you mistook that for being related to the modern cartoon.

Yeah, my kid brothers have a Splinter variant that came with a bow like that.

its a bit weirder then the usual bow & arrow as one mold.

I still feel weird calling art by an actual TMNT artist "fanart", even if it was on his own accord and non-commissioned. There's gotta be a better word for it.

Anyway I thought Fugitoid was confirmed though back when the series first started? Did he slip through the cracks like Flaming Carrot, or am I misremembering?

I have no recollection of that myself. He's a favorite of mine, so I'd definitely be in the know if he was coming (assuming that information was made public, at least).
But I suppose given his arcs always coincide with that of the Triceratons (set to appear), I suppose his inclusion may be inevitable. Dunno!

I posted the pics a couple days ago. I am sorry if what i typed made a couple of you think they were pictures of the toys. All they were of was a walmart computer screen with descriptions and price points of playmates toy listings no drawings or actual toy pics.

The same type of screen shots used a couple of years ago telling us about rahzar coming out.
