I know he's requested a lot, but why would Rayman be in smash at all? 3rd party characters are all ones from major games that changed the way games are made.

I've actually rarely seen people excited for the inclusion of Rayman. I remember the sh*t storm over his trophy reveal alone. It's a terrible choice for a Smash addition, even if Ubisoft PAID Nintendo to put him in. Characters like Crash and Spyro are equally as dumb, but I get why people have an affinity for them, but who really gives a sh*t about Rayman? Like...for real?

I think right now a lot of people are hoping it's true because it confirms DLC beyond Mewtwo.

Considering Ubisoft all but confirmed they abandoned the Wii-U I don't see why this would be real, unless work on Rayman started back in 2012-2013 or something yet was held over from the final game.

I would argue that the games I've played of Rayman's (1, Origins, Legends) are a lot more memorable than he, himself, as a character. And while I don't outright hate him either, there's something concerning about thinking of him as being a Smash character. I'm seeing quite a few articles talking about this and saying he's as much of an icon as Mario, Pac-Man, Mega Man, and Sonic, but excuse me, that's utter horses**t. He is nowhere near those four and for cryin' out loud he actually got kicked out of his own series for years before he finally made a comeback.

But yeah Ubisoft hates the f**k outta Nintendo right now and I can't seeing them doing this right now. I'm not saying it's not gonna happen, because I don't put complete stock in anything, but it still feels like someone's idea of a joke. Plus those damn eyebrows... I'm looking through years of Rayman art to find anything compatible and I'm coming up null. Even his Smash trophy doesn't look like that.

Ubi mentioned at one point that they were working on a fighting game (this was after Smash Up) and so I assumed they were doing their own "Ubi Brawl", but nothing ever came of it. If they wanna see Rayman punch other vidya characters that's where he should be.

I'd love him to get in. He's like Pac-man was to me when Brawl came out. A character I'd really love to get in, but probably isn't. I don't care whether or not Ubisoft supports Wii U since I don't buy their games anyway.

Just make him hella fun to play as and throw Barbra in as an assist trophy and I'm set.

Ok calm down, I literally came off a 6 day working week, and thought I would post quickly before I went to sleep. It was all the strength I had in me, since I was so tired, but I thought I would share it with you guys.

I wouldn't be suprised at all if it is real. Why did Rayman get a trophy?? just seems so odd. Plus he would sell well, maybe more so than a few Nintendo charcaters. Did anyone notice Mewto on the select screen in that video?

Ubisoft has released 17 games on the Wii U. If that's not support I don't know what is.

Rayman is more than deserving, he comes from a more successful franchise than Megaman or Snake (if you include Rabbid sales).

They're also sitting on a number of games for the Wii U that are pretty much finished, because they don't feel the console has sold enough to justify it.

Mega Man: 30 million
Metal Gear: 39.7 million
Rayman: 26 million

Nobody's going to include the entire Rabbids series into that total because 90% of them don't feature Rayman at all.

Rayman cannot be "more deserving" than a video game mascot icon like Mega Man, dammit. It's illogical. BOMBERMAN would be a better choice, to be honest.

Because they are still those series. Mega Man X is still a Mega Man game, Mega Man Battle Network is still a Mega Man game, Metal Gear Solid 3 is still a Metal Gear game, Metal Gear Rising is still a Metal Gear game. Rabbids Go Home is not a Rayman game.

Mega Man and Snake are from classic and iconic franchises that impacted the industry. Rayman had a few decent games that get forgotten immediately after they're released. Also, when did "sh*tty opinion I have" start to = fact.

Either way, it's fake. The guy came out and showed his work. Thank god!

That's disappointing if only because it ruins the chances of third party DLC. I'd kill for Snake to come back.

However, that is a really interesting video. I loved watching that. It's also useful to note that the Wii U roster has room for two more characters so we might get another DLC... hmm. Wonder who it could be.
