I realized something interesting yesterday.
Old Hob is a nickname for the Devil. Scratch is also a nickname for the Devil. Two mutant cats, both named after the Devil? I find that interesting... based on that, I think it somewhat likely that Old Hob is slightly based on Scratch.

Old Hob isn't based on anyone-- no one here was aware of Scratch (or Verminator-X, though I sort of remembered him once I started rereading Adventures at the start of our run).
There are some fun coincidences though. |

It'd be kinda cool if Hob got a cybernetic eye implant at some point, kind of a nod to Verminator X

Gonna be some similarities, cats are common characters.
I honestly assumed the name was a nod to Hobbes from Calvin and Hobbes.
