From what I recall the voice acting "finishing touches" would be months before the "post production" finishing touches.

Due to some profit losses, Viacom is going through some pretty significant changes, including a $785 precharge to furlough staff and cut back some of its shows. So far this season, Nickelodeon's ratings are down 34%, which usually means that a flurry of changes are ahead, and I'm worried that Nick will drop support after 2016 (and if the movie sequel flops, expect another dark period possible and it will be more dificult for another revival since the "retro cool" wave of stuff associated with TMNT's generation will never be quite as strong as it has been for the past decade or so.)

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/res...ots-2015-04-07

Because of this, I feel that Nick seriously needs to write Season 4 with a climax and open-ended finale in mind. Bring out creative, thoughtful strategies to defeat the enemies and allow the enemies have all sorts of challenges over a multi-episode arc. And why no Triceratons when even the OT had them in an episode?

The Triceratons are probably coming this season and yes, having season 4 be the ending (or at least a possible ending) is probably a good idea.

If Nickelodeon drops the cartoon and movie franchise, I wouldn't be so worried, IDW will probably continue publishing TMNT for years anyway. Just because this TMNT cartoon might get cancelled, it does not mean we'll never get another TMNT cartoon (although you should be worried about what might look like if it's announced shortly after cancellation...).

Season 4 will NOT be the ending. The show will at least get a 7 season run like the 4kids show did. You guys forget its not just ratings its also toy sales and merch which Nick all gets a cut of since they own the entire franchise now.

All those TMNT related T-shirts, bathing suits and backpacks you see in stores? Nick all makes a profit off of those, not just the Playmates toys. All those high-end statues that Sideshow makes or those Japanese figures? Nick gets a profit. The videogames? Same thing.

I feel like the Kraang don't need development, since we already know their endgame and they're now gone, but I feel Shredder and Co. need lots of development. We've been getting more Shredder development in seasons 2 and 3, but Rahzar and Fishface have become background villains that they use to create action scenes. I really hope they don't do that with Bebop and Rocksteady, although it'll probably happen.

I doubt we're going to get a 7 season run, but I don't see the show leaving us any time soon. It's Nick's fault whenever the ratings drop, due to the lack of promotional material and the constant hiatuses. Let's be honest here; TMNT 2 isn't going to flop. It may suck, and it probably will (Although, given the first movie's status, it'll take true talent for them to make something worse than that.) but it definitely won't flop. Kids will love it, TMNT fans will see it just to see it, and it'll probably make around 400-600k. I see this current show going until season 5 to be honest, but it could definitely get to 6 or 7. But if Shredder gets written/killed off in the season 3 finale to the point where he's not coming back (Kind of like the Kraang), I doubt we'll get past 5, unless they bring in an antagonist who can last a whole season/multiple seasons *Cough cough Bishop cough cough*. <- Seriously, I cannot stress this enough: Bishop is the perfect choice for a villain after Shredder. And if you don't do Bishop, you could have a whole season built around Dimension X/Triceratons, and maybe even bring in the Battle Nexus. Honestly, having The Turtles vs. Shredder in the Battle Nexus would be my dream finale.

We have been over this already, you need hard sales data compared to other toylines in order to argue success. Of course there's a bunch crap with TMNT slapped on it, there's merch of decades old movies and TV shows, to say nothing about what is relevant now. "TMNT sells merch" means nothing as I can say the same thing about Spider-Man, Batman, The Avengers and Transformers, none of which had recent cartoons that lasted more than 3 seasons (Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble are expected to end this year by the way) all of which I'm sure sold tons of merch.

Secondly, recent trends regarding these types of cartoons shows that the network is very likely to scrap it after a moderate amount of episodes, just to replace it another cartoon related to it. Usually they do so to save money on production and/or make a more recognisable show (Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, Teen Titans GO!, Beware The Batman etc).

Also, please stop saying "at least 7 seasons", you can't assume any show will get 3 more seasons than what's already confirmed, not even an undead abomination like The Simpsons much less TMNT. You're assuming a show for kids that started in 2012 will end in 2019 at it's least successful scenario, even shows for adults are lucky if they last that long. A lot can happen in the next 4 years you're proposing the show will last.

Nick is not Disney or Cartoon Network. CN has a history of canceling shows before their time, but Nick is a completely different network. Likewise Marvel just gets unlucky sometimes because their shows used to air on different networks before the Disney deal went through, (Spectacular Spiderman was funded by Sony, Wolverine aired on Nick toons, etc.)

Likewise what does Nick have besides TMNT? Spongebob. All their other shows they have now doesn't do as well as either of them.

If Breadwinners goes down the can and if the dead horse stops getting beaten (Spongebob), won't Nick need some animation for the younger children as TMNT has had its' fair share of soccer mom complaints and can get kind of dark (Leo vs Foot Clan- The Invasion). I don't think Nick has any other animated shows currently airing (correct me if I'm wrong)

Don't forget that there is supposed to be a TMNT spinoff happening in the future.

Well, if TMNT ends, then it ends. I hate to think about it, but it could happen. Yes, there are talks about a spin-off, but it could be that it may not happen. It depends on what Nick wants to do though I'd love to see a spin-off after the regular show has ended. As I've said before, I'd love to see it end at five seasons at the very least as I think that would be enough to wrap things up if they must end it at all, but I have a bad feeling that it'll end at season 4. Ah well, if so, it was a good run.

Nevertheless, the network is maintaining its competitiveness among kids 2-11 and 6-11. It has plans to put popular character SpongeBob SquarePants in a Broadway musical and extend its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise to attract more viewers.
What they mean by that is anyone's guess, I guess. But at least it sounds like it's still in the Turtles' favor for the time being.

Nick would be a fool to not continue with TMNT in some shape or form. They're a strong franchise, if Nick can't cut it with them then they really might need to consider how they're going about things. Or consider if someone or something is poisoning the water supply, so to speak.

What is with these doom and gloom people? Nick just said they plan to extend and renew the TMNT franchise. What are you people going on?

Well, I'm not doom and gloom about it, but I'm accepting that it could have been a possibility. But that's good news if the franchise is going to be extended and that could very well be with that spin-off.

And I'm happy about that but it's ambigiously worded. It could mean anything between a new season and a new show.

Says the person that complains that one season goes from 26 to 20 episodes, and no Blu-Rays, and what Seth Green sounds like, and "Bruce Lee" Hun, and what Bebop looks like, and Rocksteady being Russian, and...

The difference is it sounds like some of these people actually want the show to get canceled. I want it to at least have a healthy run of 7 seasons before they call it quits.

I feel like the Nick show has only scratched the surface of the franchise, there's a lot more material they need to cover.

Let's face it, Cybercubed. The Nick show is highly unlikely to last seven seasons. It doesn't matter how many merchandise the show sells, or how much money Nickelodeon has. If many people are losing interest and stopped watching the show, then it won't last long. Plain and simple.

The show is doing fine though, and interest is high. I'm not sure where you're getting this from?

A bunch of disgruntled 25-30 year old adults on forums don't even make up a fraction of the viewership of the show.

Look at the ratings, Cybercubed. As each episode releases, the viewership gets lower. Just look at the Ratings Thread and judge for yourself.

The show obviously won't last seven seasons. Let it go, Cybercubed.
