Which episode of the OT is that from and what caused them to facepalm?

For me, The writing and inconsistency with the tone.

I do actually love that line, and have used it on multiple occasions... which always results in baffled stares and awkward silences.

Yes, Eric, yes, that is how that works.

Clearly someone, being the surrogate son of Shredder, was able to simply buy his grades in college through persuasion.

Because are YOU going to be the one to flunk Oroku Saki's adopted son for failing Biology? Didn't think so.

Can't help but think the movie would be slightly even if it's an infinitesimal amount less cringe-worthy if the designs weren't so bad though. It'd still be godawful, but at least we wouldn't have to be pissed off about big hulking turtles the whole time.
This, because even Star Wars Episode 1 had bad writing, but it was easily overlooked because we got great action scenes and nobody in the movie looked terribly revolting, unlike TMNT 14. I agree, if the Turtles didn't look so hideous, I might have given the movie more of a chance, but they just went too OTT and overboard with the designs that it constantly took me out of the movie.

The writing would be a close second, but because of the horrible designs, we can't even get a decent GIF out of the crap. Leo would have been the only one that looked remotely normal, too bad they didn't use his model and just changed the sizes, mass and eye color.

The Foot Soldiers are Revolting. Short answer to why is Mikey. Can't remember the specifics.

It always bugged me last year when people would be like "they're mutants, aren't they supposed to look bad?" Where is the rule that mutation has to come out badly? If you're not going to aim to keep at least a small degree of cuteness or otherwise visual appeal that they've had more often than not in their 31 years, then you better write them damn good and work pretty hard to make them endearing to the audience. Centering the story on frigging April does not help matters. They tried to endear HER to the audience with the flashback. *facepalm*

Leo being my fave, I'm sorta grateful he won out a little comparatively speaking. There's still reasons/moments related to him that I want to take a torch to the film makers for.

There's select moments though... The "Uh, well, Miss, we're ninjas," and then throws that quick slight smile shortly after (blink and ya miss it), I admit kinda melts my heart. Clinging to those parts... trying to forget the parts that make me say "Nope."

The thing that irks me everytime I see this movie, is the scene in the subway when Karai is firing on a charging Leonardo, his footsteps echoing - while I was onboard with the designs, it bothered me that they seemed to rely more on their size that actual martial technique to down their foes. Raphael especially.

and yes, the definition of martial technique is debatable - but in my head, its the difference between the Hulk fighting, versus Captain America. The latter being what I would prefer to see.
