Who says she's going to play a motherly role in this film? She a very skilled actress, and can play many different kinds of roles. There's no guarantee that she's playing April's mom.

Again, it's quite possible. But I really think she could be playing any role, there is nothing indicating she's playing a 'motherly' figure.

and only because I have a strong distaste for the writers - I'm betting this woman comes forward only to reveal that April's biological father is actually Eric Sachs - which will give William Fitchner something to do, since he isnt Shredder anymore.
