Um... what? It's literally the sum of all fears, and pretty much the full, raw, unprocessed and unabashed antithesis of everything the TMNT are supposed to be, brought to life in the guise of a feature length toy commercial. And everything that is supposed to be making the "fans" excited is only doing the opposite to me ("look, kids! New vehicles!" "look, 40 year olds... Bebop! Rocksteady! Krang!" "look, kids, Casey, and he's the Arrow guy!").

As much as I hate to admit this... you're right. She does have a lot to do with the first film making so much money. *Shudders*
That's highly debatable. It wasn't like the Transformers movies took a hit when Megan departed between 2 and 3... and she has yet to carry a movie on her own yet (Jennifer's Body was a flop) or even necessarily help a movie as a supporting actress (Jonah Hex).

And it never ceases to amaze and/or frustrate me that somehow, some way, Megan Fox is what 90% of people out there point to as the main problem with these "films." I mean, is everyone high? Is there some new psychotic drug on the market I'm not aware of?

New director, new cast, same Turtles we love. Only reason why Fox wasn't recast was probably because of her 3-picture deal.

That's definitely it. It's movie by focus group, and it's the worst.

The fact you bring his name up virtually every time you come to this section of the boards is actually concerning me at this point. I've had a stalker on these forums, & some others have too. Don't be the next. There's an ignore feature, make use of that & try to enjoy life a bit more.

Because TMNT has never been a toy commercial before, right?

The Transformers sequels were only made because the first one was so successful. And who, pray tell, was in the first movie? Exactly. The fanbase for those movies was already set in stone after the first movie, most of Michael Bay's target audience saw it for her. My point still stands. She brought the star power to the 2014 TMNT movie, plus Michael Bay. Hard to admit, but it's true.

I never thought I'd ever say those words... *shudders some more*

Oh he's already got me on ignore.

But I've never had a stalker before. That could be fun.

Come on round to the house buddy! We'll have so much fun.

So that means they should always be a toy commercial right?

I wasn't implying that you specifically were weird, Powder. Just the sudden off-topic-ness was weird. But do carry on, it's amusing.

Ah, okay. You'd be hard pressed to find a thread on this board that doesn't veer off track one way or another.
Especially here, with all this disheartening news of recasts & the like. Gets folks in a tizzy.

Yeah, I'm slowly learning to expect every thread to go off-topic now. Out of all the boards I've posted on, this one is the worst.

Yes. It was unexpected. I thought the first actress did a decent job. She should have been given more to work with though. Hopefully this new one will. Same goes for the new Shredder.

First movie. 1990. Didn't feature any big hilariously ridiculous cars or huge action set pieces or any Bay crap like that.

Straight forward, down to earth, Ninja Turtles goodness with actual character and emotion and good writing.

Now, with today's effects, you could do something similar but bigger as far as fight scenes.

Not with giant mecha samurai and Shrek Hulks, but with cg enhancement and stunt doubles trained in high velocity fighting.

You know, Raid stuff, like we were promised but never got.

Even though we already established in another thread that the 1990 movie did have toys made for it. Not a lot, but they do exist. But thank you for reminding me of just how incredibly awesome the 1990 movie is.

I agree though, another TMNT movie like the 1990 movie would be amazing to have. What I meant before was that I don't know how the TMNT couldn't be a toy commercial nowadays. They way they were depicted back in the 1990 movie wasn't really known by anyone outside of the comics back then, hence the lack of toys.

And The Dark Knight had toys made for it, wasn't a toy commercial. A critically and fan acclaimed film with one of the best performances of the past few decades in it.

Like I've said previously, all it would take to make a good Ninja Turtles movie that new and old fans as well as the general audience can enjoy is for someone to be a talented, actual fan of them. The GA doesn't give a f*ck one way or the other, clearly. They'll show up if it looks awesome enough. So therefore you give the fans some good stuff, bring in good writers and a director who understand and respect the source material and you're good to go.

Paramount didn't do that. They wanted a fast buck. Maybe in 10 or so years after this series has died its rightfully deserved death, we'll get that again.

Anything to do with Batman is a toy commercial, same with TMNT. Hell, everything is a toy commercial these days.

I get what you're saying though. I pray that it happens someday.
