Jeez, taking short cuts on the nick figures is one thing, but on OT figures? C'mon playmates.

I'm considering not buying any more playmates figures ad sticking to minimates instead. I don't want o support a lazy company.

That's disappointing. I had not noticed those omissions. Hopefully rectified before release as so far, the retro classics have been pretty much clones of their 80s counterparts.

Is there any camo on Rocksteady's pants? It just didn't look like it.

I kind of expected there to be new classics this year. I figured it would be these two. It would be nice to see April and Casey in this line, if they would only release more than two of these a year.

It is and I find it strange that they would skip out on those paint apps this time round.

I believe there is.

Not me I'm totally surprised here.
I still really think they should have made either Classics Shredder or Krang be SDCC exclusives.
They don't think the classics line sells well yet those would have sold better than that Leonardo they had this year.

Man, the Playmates "braintrust" must have extensive data on how much paint-per-accessory costs their bottom line. I suppose it only makes sense to use less paint than an average McDonald's Happy Meal Toy and raise the retail price per figure by another dollar.

If they couldn't be bothered to paint Bebop's belt a unique color, I wonder if they even bothered with his tail as well.

Personally I prefer when re-issues have different and obvious paint differences, because once they are out of package you can easily tell the difference (and people are less likely to be duped by unscrupulous sellers on the secondary market.)

That's really disappointing. Not sure if they're worth buying unless they fix those details.

Yeah well those 'different and obvious paint differences' could have been additional paint, or alternate colors, not a skimp-out...

Last year I was surprised when TRU got in Krang and Foot Soldier as classics in August. After that I figured if they where to continue with two per year then B and R would work. I was also half hoping it would include Casey and April as well.

If the 6 inch shredder and Krang were made exclusive for SDCC then you would have people like me that wouldn't be very happy that it was made into another expensive exclusive.

It is also likely that I have an early test set. It's happened before.
Behind the card name plate, I can see that the BBs boots are also not painted. So, basically, everything below the waste (one half of the figure) is one base color, black.
This further hints (to me) that the released figures will see fuller paint aps. Remember, no other classic reissue has been missing any aps.

Dont start hating these release yet... I am sure that the figures that hit stores will be more colorful.

This is exactly what I was thinking. No need to freak out until someone pulls these off the pegs and they are like that.

You are oversimplifying what I'm saying, and really it comes off as defensive and obtuse rather than intellectual.

Playmates is basically charging near-premium mass market figure pricing for the equivalent of rotocast toys without scale or articulation. That's a pretty solid argument to abandon the line as a buyer.

You can go on ahead and continue to rationalize things this way. But my advice would be that you do not go through life using the same mentality that made you make the comment I've quoted above.

That's quite the size difference. Still a very small scaled representation off Nick Rocksteady, but still.
