Since we know the Turtles will be going to outer space, and April and Casey will likely not come with them, are we going to neglect even more arcs?

What's wrong with them ignoring a few arcs when the turtles are in space? It's likely going to be a few episodes so I don't see how it's a big deal.

No because Rocksteady isn't a well trained ninja like Tiger Claw is.

Also, as far as we know, Steranko was never much of a fighter, more of an arms dealer. He's better at shootin'. He's most taking advantage of the super strength and durability that comes with being a mutant rhino.

Come to think of it... Anton wasn't a fighter either, he relies on his gadgets and such. I guess he got some extra strength being a mutant as well, but he hasn't really changed his fighting/dancing style.

At this point, Turtles in Space arc would be perfect as long there are no pervious loose ends or delayed reactions to big revelations or secrets about certain main characters. Looks at earlier half of season 3 with a long stare.

For the love of god writers, learn from your mistakes.

I mean I love sci fi. I know how much you writers just love putting pop culture references. BUT DO NOT. I repeat. DO NOT LEAVE AN EPISODE OUT OF THE EMOTIONAL PAYOFF OF THE TURTLES SEEING OR EXPERIENCING HEAVY EMOTIONAL **** AND GOING TO THE NEXT EPISODE ACTING LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINE! I'm sorry for writing in all caps but seriously don't ****ing do it. Please. I don't want to be distracted thinking there is something off about the characters.

What Happened to these writers?

Just realized something- and I'm pretty sure it explains why I've been dissapointed in the latest TMNT episodes. It all comes down the the writing- which includess characterization, tone, the speed at which plot moves, the wit given Splinter, etc...

These guys are the people who, by and large, wrote season one. None of them have written *any* episodes for season three (I am basing this on wikipedia here, however):

Joshua Sternin
J.R. Ventimilia
Jeremy Shipp
Joshua Hamilton
Kenny Byerly
Tom Alvarado

After faithfully watching all episodes of season 3 (that have aired thus far), I'm still of the same opinion: the writing quality has plummetted. Now I know why. I'll bet these guys are in higher demand, and are higher paid writers, if I had to guess.

What makes people think that better CGI can substitue for good story telling?

Okay. Rant done. This is what this thread is for, right? So I shouldn't feel too bad. (Except for having spent money on this darn season.)

Just...had to add this.

For people who say this is a kid's show...Pixar writes to children. Airbender was a kid's show. Studio Ghibli (some of the later films have sucked so I'm thinkinng of the earlier stuff) aims at chidren.

TMNT started in the 80s. There are *two* potential target audiences here. Kids...and adults in their 30s. If they kept the writing quality up on these episodes, they'd have a classic in the making- something that would be watched again and again. Something that would have people buying from iTuness, Amazon, etc, because they want it forever.

I count myself in that older target audience, and well...I mean, come on. They had such a good start on this series. I is disappoint.

Based on other posts here BTW...we fans are darn good at rationalizing away poor, innconnsitent writing. But there's a point, you know? I guess I reached it, and the quality never turned back around after they returned to New York, so I give up. Nick, I want a refund.

Youre actually not alone in feeling the way you feel about the show quality.

Yeah the first two season equally but yeah season 3 has been really hit or miss.

Sure its gets better. But The first half really hurt it, especially for people who were already growing dissapointed

I don't how much this helps but Peter Di Cicco, who did few of the good episodes and did a lot of the script coordinating of season 1 was promoted to full time staff writer.

He is not head writer like Brandon but I still have a really good feeling about this.

Only thing is that Steranko beat the turtles in serpent hunt.

Just like in the OT and they had to out-strength them...in the beginning!

Reminds me of the old games. Rocksteady was always a bit challenging because of his strength.

Exactly, Rocksteady should have crushed Karai, he is as strong as Tiger Claw if not stronger.
I think it was done for plot purposes.
There are so much inconsistencies in the show.

When Shredder demanded proof for Stockman's improved mind control serum.

Rocksteady throws his weight around a lot more then Tiger Claw which is why Karai was able to use her size an speed as an advantage against Rocksteady's brute strength.

I suppose you make sense. While Tiger claw is more of a mobile fighter except for that jetpack he is carrying around.

Since it wasn't addressed there regarding the recent ep...
Quote:
At the end, I noticed a mistake. The next ep is the Yokai ep, right? They're supposed to be in the past and will learn of Saki, Yoshi, and Teng Shen's pasts, right? Well, I swear I saw Tokyo Skytree Tower in the background when Leo realized they were in Japan. The problem....Skytree wouldn't have existed yet. It was still being constructed when I lived here the first time (2010 - 2011). My junior-high students at the time chose to write about it after their school trip and how they couldn't wait to visit when it was finished being built in 2011. Even then, where in the world could they be? I would expect them to be up in the mountains in some remote area...like Yamanashi or a historical place like Iga or something. Maybe not there, but someplace far away from Tokyo. It's slightly bugging me, just like when Karai told April about the machine at Murakami's and how they have them in Tokyo. It would've been more accurate to say "Japan".
So this is a complaint. Accuracy...

Well for Karai, at that moment she was pretending that she wasn't a full fledge kunoichi so she probably made up it to make small talk.

As for the other one, well yeah that's a mistake but it's not like the writers hadn't made mistakes before. Remember when how Kirby said that he got his hippy van from his "hipster days" but that would implied when he had April, he was already in his 40's but he doesn't look a day over fifty?
