I pretty much took mutagen man as having just heard way too much about April from Donnie and decided he wanted her to be his friend, rather than a crush or anything to do with Donnie. Seemed to me like he even wanted to 'take' her from Donnie. In his now-limited existence (and warped mind), if hearing about April made up a huge portion of it, then maybe everything about her kind of became his world, even if without a crush.

Mondo, eh, too soon to tell, we only saw him meet her once and don't think they interacted in the finale.

Yeah to me Mutagen Man was trying to 'protect' April from Donnie and be her friend. Mondo Gecko is definitely not in love with April. Any guy can say a girl looks hot without it meaning anything. I don't think any of the lads in my course are in love with my Maths lecturer

Still doesn't explain why anime is allowed to get away with child nudity. Girls as young as 10 or younger or shown bare naked in some anime. Its even worse when they're sexualized.

I watch very little anime, other than Dragonball Super currently the last one I watched was Attack on Titan. I'm not much of an anime fan in general, but since I post on various forums where people watch anime, I see what they talk about and they post screencaps or animated gifs of what happens in shows.

Anime has gotten much worse in terms of fanservice now than ever before. Classic anime in the 80's and 90's knew how to balance plot and fanservice, ever since say 2005 or so fanservice in anime has taken over in terms of plot.

I've long since passed the point where I don't need to see underage girls nude in an anime. Its ridiculous how Japan gets away with this stuff.

Interesting how this turned into an anime discussion...(For the record, Clannad is the cleanest anime I've seen, everyone should watch it.) Anyway, thankfully April only has 2 guys after her. I'd hate to see anyone else appear with that role.

Mondo Gecko just thought April looked cute so he started to hit on her. I don't think it's anything like a crush considering it happened at the very end of the episode and we have not seen much of him since then.

I think the answer to your original question is the two boys that have crushes on April is Casey and Donnie.

Yeah, this. Just because a guy says a girl is cute doesn't automatically mean "crush". With Mutagen Man, I'm pretty sure he said something like, "April my friend, not Donnie's".

I've never seen Clannad, but years ago I watched Clannad After Story. Meh...

Despite living in Japan, it's rare I watch any of their anime shows ironically. Only animated programs I regularly watch are Nick Turtles, South Park, and Sonic Boom. I guess Monster Rancher kinda counts...finally found the Japanese version and started watching it about a month ago...still watching it. In a general sense I prefer manga to anime. You have to see Clannad first before after story. It makes a huge difference.

I think what Cubed is saying is that, while not all anime does that, a lot of them- a lot of the popular kinds- do. And frankly, to me, it's kind of disgusting considering it's kids, y'know? So, I'm sure he wasn't talking out of ignorance or nonsense. While you may think, or know, anime that doesn't do that, you can't deny that nowadays it's more frequent and very easy to come across. I guess I should've specified how that type of story doesn't appeal to me. I mostly prefer crime series, which is why I like Detective Conan and the underrated, overshadowed QED.
