I couldn't tell you the reason for it. But I ran into the same question on the TMNT sub reddit a while ago. Both the USA and Canada are getting the Movie figures on the newer style cards. But for whatever reason, the Canadian version uses the Nick style character artwork on the cards.

Didn't the movie figures also come on the purple card at the end of the initial movie based figure run, or am I imagining things?

So according to the toy fair and a press release there are still plenty of tmnt toys to be release this "fall". About ten tmachines,tcri playset. Then the Half shell heroes the last six of the blast fromntge past,two mutation vehicles and then about a half dozen two packs. I wonder what still gets released and what gets pushed into next year.anyone have any info on this?

Brys packaging is different because there's a picture of the Nick Turtles in the top right corner instead of the Bay Turtles, it took me a minute to notice too.

Yeah here in Canada the newest shipment contains: Baxter, karai, turflytle , the other half of the head dropping turtles, the other half of the mystic turtles, mutagen man and Kirby bat repackaged and a movie Leo on the nick packaging (just 1 per case). Very weird seeing a movie turtle in that package.

I'd swear I saw the same packaging locally, but maybe I'm mistaken... I don't have a camera with me on the go so even if I did, I can't prove it.

The BayTurtles Leo figure is just one per case? Because I swear there were 3 or 4 of them sitting on the pegs when I saw it the other day. More than any other individual figure, I think.

Maybe they're just not selling? ...again?

I never said that they weren't still shipping the figures. But I have seen nothing to indicate that they took back figures, shipped them all the way back to China, opened them, repackaged them on new cards and in new blisters and then shipped them back to the US selling them to the very stores that returned them in the first place. Because it is either that, or they just produced more of them. But whatever sounds more plausible to you.

It's shown on the booklet that is packaged with the newer T-Machines and Half-Shell Heroes figures.

Obviously shipping unsold figures back and forth to the US to China and back again wouldn't make a lot of sense. I wouldn't know what actually happened to the unsold product from the movie line, or if they had produced a certain number above the ones that were ordered/shipped originally, or if they're making new ones, or whatever. I just think it's funny that they're putting them out again after they (allegedly) didn't sell particularly well.

Just a generic back with no specific character information. Every figure seemed to have this, actually. I guess it's cheaper to put them all in identical packaging aside from the insert with the characters' name.

Just saw Pixel-Dan's review of the Metal Mutant 5-pack, and damn I'm disappointed. Think I'll just get the regular Fugitoid and ditch the space Turtles.

The back card is translated to french and spanish, so it seems they will be shipped to this countries. The last characters we received in Spain were the Casey's wave last year, and it has sense that the 'unsold' figures ein the US can be repackaged and shipped to Europe, since they never hit our shelves. But I'm just speculating

I watched another review showing that you fan unscrew the belt. But the shell does look horrible without his belt and the peice of bright green plastic. I also realized that Leo's face on the metal mutants is different from the individual carded ones.
