I also find it amusing how Bayonetta doesn't get naked in Smash when performing her attacks with her hair, only her leggings disappear and her arm sleeves. Leave it to Sakurai to manage to fit a highly sexual character into Smash Bros.

It comes to something when the crappy Mii costumes are better than the characters you are actually getting.

Bayonetta is nothing more than a BS promational tool. Bayonetta 2 was a huge flop that Ninetendo funded. So what do they do? Slap her on smash, that's 11 million people the game is advertised to.

I don't hate her inclusion, but mixed with the awful crap we got to go with her, it's a BIG let down.

What a waste of development time Corrin was? I though he said we were getting fan service? How is that fan service?

Sakuri has GOT to go.

5 Fire Emblem characters was a joke, now we get 6 ffs. Just littering the roster with Sh*t.

I lurk this forum because I'm a TMNT fan, and I don't have the time or desire to persist in regularly posting in another community.

Can we get back on topic? I wonder if its too early to speculate characters for Smash 5. If I had to these would be my pick:

- Inklings. The most likely first revealed new character. I expect 8 alts just like the villager. Splatoon is the hot new franchise on the block.

- Ice Climbers will definitely return next time.

- Captain Toad. I figure every Smash will have at least one new Mario newcomer, and with Toad finally in his own game I think he'll make it. I think Peach's toad move will be removed for something else, similar to how Zelda/Sheik had their down-b moves changed.

- New Pokemon from the next generation. Again, I expect a new Pokemon rep each time, for whoever the next most popular Pokemon is from the next gen.

- Dixie or K. Rool. At least one of them. PLEASE. DK needs at least one new character. It would be even better if a DKCR3 comes out early in the NX lifecycle and K. Rool is the main villain.

- New Zelda rep. I don't care who it is, but any new Zelda character will do.

- If Sakurai is finally gone, maybe we'll finally get Ridley, who knows.

- Wolf making a comeback after sitting out a game like Mewtwo? Wolf is very similar to Mewtwo in that he was mysteriously absent despite everyone expecting him to be back. It was fan demand that made Mewtwo return after all this time, I wonder if Wolf is the next "Mewtwo" in that he'll remain popular enough to warrent a return.

Fire Emblem is actually a very popular Nintendo franchise, both in Japan and in America. Sure, Marth and Roy were put in and were unknown at the time, but Japan does have them as popular guys. Same with Ike in America come Path of Radiance; Lucina is also a popular character from Awakening and Robin was a surprise addition due to Chrom being the assumed final rep.

You might not think it or Cubed, but it's not biased in the slightest (Marth clones are another story....). The more popular a franchise in selling Nintendo wise, the higher a chance it'll have more representation. With the exception of Corrin, the characters of Fire Emblem are fine. The only one outside Corrin I disagree with is Marth, she should have been a costume of Marth if she's primarily the same minus differences; otherwise it's not worth a complaint. Bayonetta I can't argue on because I've never played a game of hers.

In life, we're going to like or dislike fighting games roster wise. I'm satisfied because my most wanted were in since the beginning; I'm all for the roster we have right now. But in the future, pick up Ryu from Ninja Gaiden, a Metroid rep (not Ridley) and something unexpected; also just throw in K. Rool so people stop whining and a Splatoon character and there you go.

As much as I love Wolf, I can't see him coming back. Star Fox Zero will most likely influence how Star Fox is represented, right down to maybe a more classic looking Fox and Falco. Wolf kinda always felt like a WTF character, but an awesome WTF character.


I have no doubts Sakuraii will be back, so you can expect more Fire Emblem/sword characters. I wonder if they will move Smash 5 in to production quickly, and push it out for release within a year or so of their next home console release.

I would be very happy if all or some of the characters you listed make Smash 5, but I highly doubt they will.

I hope he does leave tbh. I feel Smash will be better in less bias hands. You can't take away from him, that his work is done to a very high standard, but he just can't pick a fair and balanced roster for sh*t.

If his health is declining, i do feel sorry for him, he doesn't deserve that. Hope he gets better. I wasn't aware that he was/is ill?

Although I mostly disagree with the statement, a person cannot be "bias". That's not how words work. The word is "biased".

But between this and blaming Ed Boon for every character in Kombat Pack 2, it's retardiculous. The project lead does not make all of the final decisions him or herself and even if they did, SO F**KING WHAT? This is the largest, fullest, unobjectively BEST roster in the series' history and still you bitch?

Also learn what bullying looks like. Jesus Christ, grow up.
