I brought the Technodrome home tonight.

A quick comparison in size shot.

The Drome (new) is lighter than the original. Its materials are flimsy but substantial. This is due to the internal structures that you build into it.
I wasn't taken by the break away side to this Drome as it feels incomplete, but I am sure hat there is a reason for it. Regardless, I'd have liked a panel that popped on and off again.
Visually, its quite striking, and the colors work. You don't get promised one thing on the box, and find something else.
A lack of (there are none) stickers spoiled my favourite part of building this sort of toy. I enjoy being frustrated by the stupid small, or impossibly thin stickers that accompany the vehicles.

I will add some figures to it at a later point in time to see how they interact with it.

Nice to see it in complete form, the trailer for TMNT: Out of the Shadows shows the pieces of the Technodrome floating around, and you can see those panel pieces in its shape.

Wow, that's larger than I thought!! Now I understand the price point you and I talked about Thanks for sharing and I'll be curious to see what it looks like with the figures next to it once you get those shots.

I can't wait to Frankenstein that new one with some older parts.

Really happy about the size. Shame about only one side.
It's like they tripped at the finish line.

I like that analogy. I have to agree.
It's still a nice piece.
The other side opens up on a double hinge. That section that opens does pull the Drome over, but has a 'foot' that helps to balance it. I cannot see me ever displaying it open. There lies the advantage (to a smaller degree) in the open (or battle damaged) segment.
For this, I can see me buying a second set of figures, and displaying them in it and the garbage truck.

Well we don't know yet for sure but DVD is thinking that it will be in the $75 or higher range. I was thinking that was high but now seeing the size of this thing, I can understand a price closer to that.

No.....

I will prepare full sets of pics and a better run down when I find time.
At this time, the Drome has not even been fully built, and i am waiting for more items to arrive.
In all this tho, the project I am working on at work is taking all sorts of twists and turns, and keeping me distracted from my real life of playing with my toys

Price point help.
Different markets sell at different actual prices. Here it is to retail at just shy of 50% more than Hasbro's X-Wing with Poe figure. Hope that helps. Ex, in the UK, the X Wing is around 40 pounds, so expect 60 pounds for the dome. That said, the higher the price point, the more chance of a sudden crash in price. The large Leo play set is a good example of that. Its UK price was in the region of 100 pounds, but is now 60-70.

Appreciate it. I know I ask you that a lot for your bounties, but there is always something interesting on the flipside of the figs I'd like to see.

In my office now, and all but BB n RS are here (I took those guys home last night!!).
All figures have a generic backing and say very little.
The fronts of the Turtles have individual cards, with graphics of the appropriate Turtle in the upper corner.

So, here is one of the backs.

Too bad they didn't go for individual bios this time with the figures. That is what I was hoping for at least. And they already have the pictures of the variant turtles on the back.

They probably did that to avoid spoilers of the new movie.

Well, maybe enough to not spoil anything.

Like Mikey would have his party dude summary with his skate board and still wanting a date with April and another drink of Orange Crush, or whatever the new cross promotion drink is.

Raph's would be like he is still the hot head and bruiser of the group and still has to put Duct tape on his shell every morning. He will always defend his brothers even if his attitude doesn't always show it.

Don wouldn't be anywhere without his gadgets. He still finds new ways to even surprise himself. His new electro staff does wonders at stunning the enemy and his flying drone gets the footage most reporters can't get.

Leo studies further to be the leader through Master Splinters lessons.

Shredder is back and wants revenge on the turtles. He brings with him mutants and more foot soldiers to take care of their mutant menace once and for all. Beware turtles, he is back and sharper than before. (keener mind than before at least because that first suit was way too sharp)

Foot Soldiers keep to the shadows and attacks only when their enemy least expects it. Loyal to Shredder they will stop at nothing to rid the world of the turtle menace.

Bebop, once an overweight gang member, he is now an overweight mutant pig. Now loyal to the Shredder he will work alongside is buddy Rocksteady to smash the weakling turtles.

Rocksteady normally pummels his enemies as a brute of a man, now he gets to that as a mutant Rhino. Allying himself with Shredder he gets to be apart of the wrecking crew alongside bebop.

Master Splinter has taught them every single skill they need to be one lean, mean, green, incredible fighting team (or something like that). That doesn't stop him from being their father. He will always keep them focused for any battles they have to go through.

Casey Jones fights any thugs on the street that trys to hurt the innocent. Wearing a goalie mask and carrying a hockey stick he makes his enemies wonder, what sporting goods store did he just rob?

Krang would probably be the only one that gives any spoilers away because he hasn't really been mentioned yet outside of the figure.

With a bit of cleanup, these are the bios that would be used in my estimation. Just throwing people the obvious like many bio cards do. It's nice to get a card specific for the characters we like or don't like. It makes it a part of the fun of collecting.

Too bad Karai wasn't made, again.

They did that to save money... pure and simple. One generic backer card more money they don't have to spend on the toys so they maximize profits. Same reason they skimp everywhere else in the process. They just don't care.
