Seen it. Loved it. Far better than the first one, but I know that won't stop some people here from ripping it a new one.

Spoiler:
They cut out Judith Hoag's cameo, dammit!

Shredder is never referred to as "Oroku Saki". Thanks a bunch, Brian Tee.

Just stating facts. Not saying I agree with them.

I only ask out of morbid curiosity, but does TMNT 2 even bother explaining why Splinter hates Shredder and vice versa? Or how Splinter knew who he was in part 1?

I think the main reason why I enjoyed it more than the first one was because
Spoiler:
there's more scenes of he Turtles enjoying themselves, being brothers, messing about, relaxing at home. The first movie didn't really have any of that.

Spoiler:
Nope. It isn't even mentioned. They don't even meet each other this time. It also doesn't explain why Shredder's face looks different.

Only read if you need to induce vomiting because you've been poisoned or something.

this kind of thing bothers me - according to the article they already had a story worked out, and Bay basically orders them to include Casey, forcing them to rewrite a story.

similarly, during a recent interview (AOL BUILD) the producers and writers talked about wanting to top the snow chase sequence from the first, and came up with the airplane sequence - - that was the first thing they did before coming up with a story.

Stories SHOULD NOT revolve around action scenes you want to see, or characters you demand are in, but these elements, and characters need to be added organically as a way of enhancing the storyline.

When I heard that they basically wrote the move around the airplane sequence it solidified to me that their primary concern was spectacle, and as a supporter of this particular iteration, that really upsets me.

Spoiler:
Leo actually calls Krang "Bubblicious".

In the Halloween parade scene, there's a guy dressed as Bumblebee from Transformers and interacts with Mikey. Oh, Michael Bay. You couldn't resist, could you?

It was evident from the start that their primary concern was spectacle. Cool sig image, btw.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this one, the Turtles acted more like the Turtles, having fun, good banter, conflict when there needed to be, moments of doubt, and then they swiftly come together.

R...really? Theyre not 1:1 adaptations, but I'd say that the Marvel Studios movies are overall very true to the characters and the spirit of the comics. Compared to most other comic movies (definitely including BayTurtles in that) they go the extra mile.

id have to agree here - while not exactly lifted page for page, or word for word, Marvel has done a great job bringing comics to life; especially when adapting origin stories.

my biggest gripe with this iteration of the Turtles is the origin - its stayed virtually the same for years (with the exception of the IDW comics that introduced reincarnation, but still maintained the same elements), and the movie writers still decided they could do it better.

Marvel may make changes, but the fundamentals remain intact.

Its too bad that Fox's version of Quicksilver is 10x better then Marvel's version, which they just half assed and killed off.

this is unfortunately true. Sad part is, at least in my opinion, there isnt much else to enjoy in the FoX-Men besides Quicksilver.

The Fox Quicksilver's personality had more in common with DC's Impulse than comics Quicksilver. Which I loved, don't get me wrong -- Impulse is my favourite speedster. But character-wise, the Marvel version felt more comics-accurate.

Agreed.

Except for all of their villains (Ultron, Malekith, Mandarin, Ronan), I think Marvel's been faithful with all their major characters except Drax. I honestly cannot come up with any issues that aren't related to their villains.

(And no, I'm not counting the Maximoffs' parentage rights issue.)

As a long-time Marvel reader, I'm calling b.s on that.

The movies are the comics put through a kindergarden filter and their characters are left all the poorer for it. Especially their villains.
