I'm not seeing it. I wasn't fooled by the Transformers sequels and I wasn't even fooled by the first of these. I'm a patient guy so I waited until it hit my local library. One week for free, how can you beat that?
Forget about the fact that Dave Green is pretty much new to the scene! He's just there to do whatever Michael Bay tells him to do so let's move on. I can't blame Stephen Amell for taking up this job despite my feelings. He may have made a mark on TV with Arrow but he's still new to the movie scene so this should be good for him, especially if he can show some acting chops. It's a cash cow so he'll get a good paycheck while also making a name for himself in the movie area. Hopefully this'll lead to better roles, better movies, and a better chance for him to show some promise. I don't care about Judith's cameo. It's like I say, cameo's are cheap just like these movies in general. Everyone else coming on board from Tyler Perry to Carmelo Anthony (who really needs to shut up!) is a fool! Frankly, the two main things that will make this another library rental (aside from the fact that Bay's involved as well as most of the crew) are Megan Fox and most definitely Creep Mikey. Terrible actress, terrible movies, and terrible human being are what sum up Megan Fox, especially after her foul words to her critics! I mean, *knock* *knock* Megan? The customer is always right! Besides, the critics were right about her suck-fest of a movie. How about she show some acting skills before showing off her skills at acting sub-human? Do your job, take the money, sign up for the next one, shut up, and go home! If we never hear from her again, she'd do us a solid. Creep Mikey, as I refer to him, was a major turn off all the way to the last annoying, grating final scene! I mean I'm sitting on my living room couch, in the dead of night, with my face in my hands, just begging for that final scene to end! I'm trying to drown him out as it goes on forever! Then, when I'm supposed to find relief in the end credits, I get subjected to the worst movie song since R. Kelly's 'Gotham City'! Now they expect me to pay up to $12 to sit in some darkened room away from my house, and sit in front of a bunch of strangers, and watch their lousy sequel?! THAT IS A JOKE! |

I don't know whether Dave Green is just doing what Michael Bay tells him, but anyone who has seen this film can tell you that it has a completely different look, feel, vibe, tone, and better shots and cinematography than the last movie. Its hard for me to believe that the director didn't have something to do with that. Stephen Amell is decent, but better on television. There's no Judith cameo that I remember. Tyler Perry is funny though. Megan Fox is Megan Fox. People either love her or hate her so I have nothing there. However, Mikey doesn't have any creepy moments like in the last movie. Yes there is that joke in the trailer where he says "are y'all like a thing?" but other than that, he never hits on April. Also the movie doesn't end with a dumb joke

I wish Tee was more informed on this whole "this is the first time we ever see Shredder's face". It's clearly nonsense even if you're only familiar with the 80s versions.
I also wish he wouldn't reference him being Oroku Saki. They don't use that name in the movies and that's evidence enough that they have zero intention of ever delving into that character beyond him being a guy with blades. |

You being an intelligent person that actually cares about these characters in some deeper way than nostalgia-driven dollar signs. But not the people in charge of these movies apparently. And certainly not the ones who defend/defended them and their stupid, garbage decisions almost to the detriment of the Turtles franchise as a whole. |

But the stupid thing is that it's been proven time and time again in this day and age that faithful adaptations work. They MAKE money. Look at Marvel; they're a POWERHOUSE. Turtles deserves a faithful treatment, and it would WORK if they did a faithful one. I mean, everyone KNEW the first one would suck, and it didn't make that much money. Hell, a movie about a talking tree made more money. These producers are settling for less money than they could be making; if they made a faithful, good story, they could easily rake in 700k. And it amazes me that they're lazy enough to settle for 400k. |

An adaptation in the vein of Season 1 Netflix Daredevil would be killer. Nice and gritty, but with lighter moments and the family bond. All the archetypes are even there already. Leo=Matt Murdock, responsible but flawed leader Raph=Devil of Hell's Kitchen, passionate, rage-filled fighter Mikey=Foggy, well-meaning goofball Donnie=(this one's a little tougher as he doesn't really have a direct analogue, so maybe...Ben Urich?) Splinter=Stick(obviously) April=Karen Page Shredder=Kingpin, mysterious, violent criminal organization...well, kingpin It's all right there and perfect. Instead we get lowest common denominator Michael Bay horsesh*t. |

My personal best case scenario that'll never happen-- Disney buys TMNT under Marvel, and we get a Netflix TMNT series set within the MCU street-level shows (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, etc). They've already established crazy awesome ninja action and supernatural Japanese lore in the Marvel Netflix shows-- it would be perfect. It could even go cosmic, a'la Guardians of the Galaxy.

I'm shocked that they've now cast 4 Japanese actors for Shredder/Karai, and not 4 Japanese-looking-enough people. Also, the Ancient One is traditionally Tibetan, and we all know how much the People's Republic of China loves their friends in Tibet. |

Oh cool! I've been looking for who did that cover.
We stuck through the credits to find out who performed the theme cover. It had some guys name I can't remember as the performer rather than HomeTown. They did a marvelous job. |
