Right away Chuck Dixon wrote: "So, I write Connor Hawke as a young man straight out of a monastery with no real experience with the opposite sex and this is the conclusion they leap to. Creative bankruptcy."

I admit to bursting into laughter when I was this on CBR. Now all we need is a Hawk and a Marvel associated character to be non-straight and all the notable heroes will have a gay associate.

Aquamen failed, the diverse Wonder characters failed, Jon Kent as a hyperaged bi-sexual failed. Thorne's Green Lantern title failed. When will the revamped background character, Tim Fox fail as Batman? Dark Crisis indeed if DC does not use the familiar characters.

Taylor's Nightwing, Adams's Flash, and Waid's World's Finest are doomed to receive editorial meddling, ut right now are the best comic titles out there right now.

Waid's World's Finest will be just fine, it's a prequel and a lot of it's arcs will inform other books.

There's no such thing as "asexuals", there's only people who know they'll never get laid and thus have given up. It's just a very nice way of saying "incel", created by people who refuse to get stuck with the incel label. "Shows what you know, I don't WANT to get laid!"

Liars.

DC honors George Prez with a spread of characters which he worked with contributed by different creators this June.

Spoiler:
Predictable and almost deja vu of Death
Metal though this time enforcing unwanted diversity characters as placeholders. Also, there was a misleading with the sole survivor being Black Adam, it was never mentioned he would be apart of the fight and was only in the art piece with the caskets. It was thought to be either Zatanna or Green Arrow heading into it.

Ohoho... That Round Robin. What a scam.

Suicide Squad Dark lost on Twitter and DC's website, but won on Instagram, goes onto the next round. Not sure why they can't just have ONE poll, and just link on their various social medias just to avoid confusion. Maybe the Instagram did have a landslide more votes like DC claims, but still. One poll would avoid confusion, and people calling them out.

Anyway, Suicide Squad Dark's gonna win because Batman's in it. Bleh.

I know right and that is what is what DC was trying to avoid with this year's version! Or so it claimed!

Leo, what would you say are the highlights of Wally Wesy's Flash volume 2? I am curious if my 'best of' set is missing anything I might be interested in.

Joshua Williamson has confirmed he's leaving Robin. Some of his storylines will be continued in the mini-series Batman vs Robin by Mark Waid

Ah man, I'd have to pull out my longboxes.

The storyline leading up to issue #50, the Vandal Savage/Lady Flash one where Wally gets his "liquid metal" costume, that was a good one. The "Return of Barry Allen" arc around #75 is the best Flash story ever. Flash Annual #3 from 1989 is fantastic all around.

It's been so long since I've dug through my boxes that a ton of stuff is slipping my mind. I've been cleaning out the storage room though so if I get to that box I might dig some stuff out to read and get back to you.

I don't know if its an actual term, but collector-wise I am a semi-completist, meaning I have several runs not necessarily one massive run on a title and have to get everything. For example I have 5 extensive Detective Comics run, not every single issue from Detective Comics#371 on. If it's something like Tamaki interrupting Tomasi I am dropping it. I enjoy Wally West but don't have to get everything with his title. I have roughly 50 issues from issue one along with Flash Plus Nightwing and All-Flash#1 one-shot. Mainly I am curious if I missed anything that might interest me.

A little commentary on the current run on Nightwing. It is written by Tom 'Two Face' Taylor, a socialist hippie commentator. It is reflected in Dick Grayson's humanitarian mission of creating a community within Bludhaven for those in need similar to Lex Luthor's scheme in the Justice League cartoon with Lexor City. The commentary here is easy to ignore because it focuses on two things that I feel that highlight Dick Grayson best. His relationships with other characters and the dialogue are fantastic. The consistency of guest stars show that on his own Dick Grayson is not a strong lead, however if he is a part of a team he thrives in the lead.

I am not that big on him as Nightwing, I prefer him as either half of the Dynamic Duo as his character shines best as a part of a team. That being said, I also love the constant flashbacks to his time as Robin. I am getting a good helping of it between this and Waid's Batman/Superman: World's Finest. It's great to see character moments that make me smile with Barbara Gordon, Bruce Wayne, Wally West primarily and to a lesser extent Alfred and other Titans. This sudden admiration that Superman Jr. has for Grayson does not make any sense beyond the fact the characters are sharing the same writer at the moment.

The art is also suburb and takes liberties such as the issue of Nightwing's handicap puppy being kidnapped and it was left to the reader to follow a single frame. The story is an unnatural blend of liberal philosophy with a conservative approach, reliance on his time as Robin and his history with other characters to allow him to shine and thus the run itself. Even dusting off the once dead Blockbuster II and retroactive ties to his past through Haley and his supposed paternal half-sister. This reliance on character interactions and flashbacks is giving me what I want yet I can see people stating it is holding him back. I am just surprised at how conservative yet liberal this comic is. It's unnatural. Overall, I am enjoying it.

I have read complaints that the plot is dragging out slowly. One needs to recall that Fear State interrupted the narrative and it showed us a story that one did not have to read the actual Fear State storyline yet completely understood what was going on without having to read a page of the Batman title or one-shot specials. That is an achievement! Also, the issue spaces were needed for the character moments with Barbara, Bruce, Wally, and others. I also enjoy the flashbacks. Sure, whatever Heartless is after is taking its time, but if he acted quickly then we would not have gotten Wally lashing out at KG Beast or Barbara suit up alongside Dick more than once.

Hopefully we can get more of the Heartless part of the storyline soon resolve, I am expecting by #95's conclusion it will be done.
