I really think IDW has done a great job with the turtles and I wouldn’t mind if they hold onto the license longer. They have reprinted a healthy amount of previously hard to get material, given Eastman the room to re-energize the franchise with TLR, and even if I don’t love the ongoing series there is no denying it’s one of the most consistent books on the stand.
Yeah, it will be good to see IDW Slash, Mirage Shredder (well I still think this is Mirage Shredder who somehow gets resseructed after his death in TMNT Mirage Comics in issue 1), 2012 Metalhead and also possibly some other characters from TMNT across different universes that were shown on cover B on TMNT Battle Nexus comic issue 1

The Battle Nexus was introduced in IDW in the 2014 annual if I remember right (someone correct me if I'm wrong?), so how did it take them another 11 years to actually do anything with it?

It seriously took them over a decade to make a mini-series or story arc using a concept introduced back in 2014?

Battle Nexus will also feature back-up stories where different incarnations of the Turtles face off against each other. Here are the match-ups:

1990 Movie vs. Mutant Mayhem/Tales
Mirage vs. Rise
1987 vs. Archie
2K3 vs. 2012

Can't wait to see how the '87 & Archie and 2K3 & 2012 Turtles interact!

Yeah, this time Mister Ogg will really summon different incarnations of Turtles, so do you think he got that idea after Creepy Eddie impersonated them maybe?

Good luck to Rise Turtles, but they have mystic weapons so they still have chance to win.

I hope Mirage Turtles are from after v1#1 timeline.

I mean from Power scaling alone, the Rise turtles has the highest chance to win the whole thing. Only ones that could match them would be Legend Turtles, and it is a stomp if the Legends turn into Turtle Saint

I do have to wonder about some of these match-ups. I get FW and Archie because of the whole diverging timelines bit and I can get the 4Kids and 2012 one because that one feels like it should have happened.

Mirage and Rise as well as 1990 and Mutant Mayhem stump me a little.

It's what we in the business call "Pairing the spares."

I mean just seems to be old Gen (mirage/movies) vs new Gen (Rise and MM.) nothing more complex than that.

Yeah I feel like they make sense. The source material vs. the most outlandish version and the original theatrical version vs. the latest.

2003 vs 2012 and 1987 vs Archie make sense, the other matchups seem too random though.

It should be Mirage vs IDW, Rise vs Mutant Mayhem and 1990 vs Bay Turtles.

But you are forgetting a crucial aspect of that, it requires acknowledgement of the Bay Turtles.

Well they deserve to be maybe acknowledged even though that movies are not liked that much, maybe in next multiverse comic

There’s also the fact that there’s no way they wouldn’t sweep any other turtle they faced. They’re super OP. Literally 10’ tall and bulletproof.

The IDW Turtles are likely excluded because they're already the focus of the mini's main plot.

Also, they only revealed 4 of these matchups and it’s a 5-part mini. Issue #5 could be IDW vs. just about anybody.
