Oh god, I already forgot about that stuff. How every human has randomly different animal DNA deep down.

I find it hilarious that they'd even write that in. It's like a creationist's view of how evolution works.

Well, a creationist will typically allow for "change within the 'created' kinds" because they can't ignore the effects of selective breeding, so technically they have a better understanding of evolution because at least they're able to understand that pigs and rhinos don't somehow have a common descendant.

Seriously though, why the hell not just have pig and rhino DNA samples in the lab or something?

I think it was to make the mutagen less stupid than the Fred Wolf mutagen with "touch an ant, become Ant-Man" but they didn't realize that what they did instead was many times more stupid.

This is inevitably the way of all movies out of Hollywood.

They really should have just gone with the contact angle and put more explanation to it. No need for people to keep trying to reinvent things, why not just dig further into what's already there?

Still requires suspension of disbelief, but at least explaining that mutagen causes the DNA from, say, a few microscopic skin cells to aggressively invade your being and bond with your own DNA might be more plausible in the TMNT universe than... one of your grandparents some millennia ago f***ed an ancient rhino and they somehow birthed a hybrid.

Don’t make a damn movie adaptation if you’re ashamed of the source material!

If they were actually doing that at all then they wouldn't even need to worry about de-sillying the Fred Wolf mutagen because they wouldn't need any in the movie.

I wouldn't advocate for it, but probably the 2012 ooze is the best way to go is if your goal it just a lot of mutants that are ready to go and sentient right away. At least with that you can go, "It's alternate dimensional goo that just kind of does whatever!" though obviously they went way too far by allowing it to mutant inanimate objects.

The most underrated TMNT movie. I like it way more than the 2014 movie. The fact we finally got Krang and Bebop & Rocksteady in a theatrical TMNT movie is a nice bonus.

I will never understand why anyone really claims this movie is "underrated" or "at least better than the previous one", they may give reasons but I don't really trust those reasons. If any TMNT deserves to be ridiculed as much as possible, it's this one.

That's like saying you're happy your soup "finally" had a fly in it after hearing jokes about it all your life.
