2015, definitely. I was 24-25 in 2015. It feels almost like yesterday. The 2014-2016 period in general does and it's hard for me to believe it was 10-12 years ago already.

This is going to contradict what I said above, but I feel you.

Feels recent to me.
I forgot you're 5 years older than me. Well, then yeah, it makes sense that 2005 feels more recent to you than it does to me. I was 14-15 back then. You were 19-20. But, tbh, the period I was 19-20 in (2009-2011) feels like it was a long ass ago as well. Not as long ago as 2005, obviously, but it doesn't feel like it was just yesterday by any means.

Yes, this place has had the same layout since the first time I dropped in (2003?)

COVID was in 2020-2022. It ended 4 years ago. But it feels like it was just last year and that it only lasted for a year. 2015 feels like it was just 3-4 years ago, I'd say.

I remember what I was doing around 2015 as well. 2001-2005 were my late childhood and early to mid teens. Lots of ****** stuff happening in school but also lots of happiness at home. "the long ago" for me as well, but not because of the crappy stuff. But because I was 11-15 years old.

That's why people often say they're surprised the early 2000's are now 20 years ago, because it really does not feel like it. Most of us grew up since then, finished school, got full-time jobs, etc, but to me it doesn't feel that long ago.

Then again I have no kids, so for those of you with families it's probably different. I do imagine having a kid changes things.
I don't have any kids either. So I can relate to that.

Old flip-top cell phones were still the norm, the first i-phone didn't even come out till 2007! It's actually hard to believe how the modern smart phone didn't even come out till near the end of the early 2000's, and most people didn't even get an i-phone at first. I remember the whole idea of a touch screen cell phone sounded so unrealistic at first.

Can you believe youtube also didn't even come out till 2005? Youtube is such a mainstream part of the internet, for even official companies like movie trailers and videogame trailers, that it's hard to believe it did not even exist till 2005. I remember watching videos/trailers for games and movies on quicktime and Realplayer on websites back then.

People claim the early 2000's weren't much different than now but they were VERY different. 2000-2009 especially feel like a different world from now. Then from 2010 onward we pretty much started the whole streamong/online internet/social stuff, then the gay and transgender crowd claimed their identities proudly for the first time, and then it went on from there.
I only got a flip phone momentarily around 2013 or 2014 when my first smartphone had to be sent to maintenance. They gave me a flip phone for like a week until they finished fixing my smart phone. Quite a surreal experience.

Those companies did not start making youtube channels until 2010-2012 or so, btw. No one was going on youtube well until 2010 or so to watch live transmissions or hear about the latest news.

Only one? In the United States of all places? There has to be at least 15 of those, come on.

Yes, especially your early days on IGN where you pretended to be a lesbian girl

I guess he doesn't qualify as African American to cubed because he doesn't say things like "yessa massa", "sup dawg", "yo", "kill whitey" and "shee-it negro!"

I prefer not to dwell on the past too much these days. It just stirs up a lot of painful memories!

It began in March of 2020 and should have ended entirely when the vaccine came out the following year. Everything else after that was self-imposed. I was back to work in August of 2021 and everything was fine barring the Seattle governor trying to scare everyone away from businesses.

I no longer remember the timeline that well and I can't speak for what happend in foreign countries. But I didn't like how cafés, restaurants, football stadiums, concert venues, etc. were asking people to show them proof on their phone app that they had been vaccinated. I defended the vaccination and the vast majority of my country got vaccinated, but it was never MANDATORY to get it. So cafés, restaurants, etc. demanding people to show them proof of vaccination was insane. As was them refusing to serve those who did not get vaccinated.
