I wouldn't compare Peter to JK Rowling at all. I don't think there's anything wrong with defending you're intellectual property. Fan fiction is one thing, but if someone wrote something of novel length and called it The Half-Blood Prince? Yeah, I'd go after that person, too. I think she has a very good attitude about the craziness that is the Harry Potter fan masses. And I really like that she does communicate to all of the fans through her website.

This is actually one thing I've never thought. What leads you to believe this?

Well I do find Volume 4 to be very well written, (its just slow-paced), but honestly the stuff he did in that isn't that different than the plotlines you'd see in the old toon.

Donatello being shrunk...how many times have the Turtles been shrunk in the old toon? It happened in two different episodes of course. (one in Season 2 and one in Season 4)

I'd love to have him post here, but I'd be afraid of the things that might come out of other's mouths, heh... Some people may not be mature enough... And he'd get all disenchanted or something.

Oh you mean like out of his own mouth. You know I really love how it's ok for everyone to bash on things he doesn't like but if someone likes something lord and master Peter doesn't like it's so wrong and your a stupid moron and your opinion isn't valid.
Peter Laird is one of my all time favorite comic book artists he's pretty much the reason I got into comics and art in the first place I just wish he'd start being one again and stop trying to be such a political figure.

This is actually one thing I've never thought. What leads you to believe this?

The only reason why J.K Rowlings went after this fan fiction writer, is because the majority of the Harry Potter fans prefered the altered version of the story over J.K. Rowling's original, and that would be a blow to one's pride.

In the end, that same fan fictioner was approached by the same publishing company that produces the Harry Potter books, and proposed her a deal to start her own series. Right now, she's in the middle of writing that series. It was all over the internet and news a while back, shortly after the release of the Half Blood Prince.

But if Peter Laird is nothing like this, and welcomes ideas without being harsh about it, then what the hell, let him come and brave the waters of the Technodrome. I jsut hope he understands that the Turtles have a massive, widespread fan base, and the majority is not limited to their knowledge of the comics.

I've read some fan fictions that people have sent me and later posted online*Some on the Drome I'm sure* and I've seen similar plots used in episodes that followed. They could always have had the same idea but when I know he was trolling around here around the time they were posted and a year later I see a certain Battle Nexus story in Volume 4 I get suspicious.

Well, I wouldn't say that about him...

But I don't see anything wrong with an author going after someone who has rewritten their book. It has nothing to do with being welcoming of ideas. Someone re-edited Star Wars Episode I, which a lot of people were complementary of, and I'm pretty sure Lucasfilm went after all the distribution channels for that. At the same time they're very encouraging to the people who make Star Wars fan films and such.

Agreed. No offense to anyone, but some things we say on here are pretty childish. Heck, even I'm a victim saying some things a brat would say. Besides, I think it would be a bit more rewarding to meet him in person than to talk to him via e-mail or forums

Well if you think that way then it should work out great for him. He would be talking to people that are on the same level as he is.

harsh. man you are relentless. the love-hate relationship you seem to hold with regards to his art vs. his personality is apparently dominated by your hatred for the latter.

I just don't get how it's okay for him to bash his fans but it's not okay for us to not see eye to eye with him on everything.

eh..i think it's perfectly fine to not see eye to eye with him on everything. people who agree with everything their idol does are lapdogs. anyway, i'm not fond of his personality either, i was only making a casual observation because you seem to be extremely at odds with him as a person.

I may not be spitfire but He's not the only one at the moment who doesn't care for what he's doing or how he acts and I know for a fact the 2 of us aren't alone just by looking at this thread.

No I agree with ya, I just took what you said a little to hostilely. That's all my bad sorry about that.

But I'm glad you see what I mean about people just agreeing with someone because of who they are.

That was old hat before the OT. Besides, how they shrunk Don was a unique idea. And what's wrong with the Battle Nexus being used in Vol. 4 and the NT...if Peter and Loyd are close, and Loyd has no problems...

The point was he makes it look like the old toon and archie are less than what he's doing but it's really no better.
