Wow, I shoulda made poll asking if 8 months is too long. To you guys that don't have a problem with this: Why do you think Lionsgate is taking this much time? (Putrescent, I remember you saying that you have most all of the later episodes recorded, so you don't count

This is common practice. The reason season sets are spread out so far apart is to give the consumer time to go out and make the purchase and not have to worry about falling behind.

You have to remember that not everyone is like you (assuming you go out first day and get the DVD). Some people it takes 4-8 months to pick up the next volume after it's release date.

If you released a new DVD every 3 months some people would fall behind and stop buying because they don't see the catching up as something that is worth their time.

We're still getting two sets a year, which is one more set a year than most series are putting out.

Another thing is, we should all be happy we're getting the episodes at all. Since no one here knows how they're selling it's hard to complain about how much money is put into them. For all we know Lionsgate could barley be making a dime on these, but are still putting them out for the fans. It's hard to see things from their point of view, but that doesn't' mean it doesn't exist.

But for real, boo-hoo. We have to wait until December for season 7... it's better than never getting an official release of season 7, isn't it? I would love brand new art-work, special features out the wazoo, and all the odds and ends that every buyer wants, but if it's not a realistic cost for Lionsgate can you really blame them for not going that extra mile? They're out to make money, just like every business.

Come on people, this is sales 101.

I gotta take the opportunity to say it: I haven't bought season 6 yet. Higher priorities on my geekbuying list.

I'll get to it sometime before season 7. If I saw them coming out every 3 months, I'd assume a series boxed set was coming out and wait for it.

I'm going half way here. I agree and disagree with that for the same reason...

Fans with more money will buy them all when they come out, and fans with less money would buy them all eventually, and fans with the least amount of money would indefinately fall behind.

I don't see how 2 a year is so terrible. I mean, it took 2 years between the Muppet Show season 1 and Season 2 (for multiple reasons). If that's not a rediculously long wait, I don't know what is. But then again, Season 3 came out in May, instead of August this year....

Though I agree they should just put the last seasons together in one box, or dual seasons in a 2 disk collection.

But they SHOULD do something about the Once Upon a Time machine and Planet of the Turtleoids nonsense.

To be honest it's not that awful, I have other things to hold me down while waiting on TMNT stuff but all 100+ episodes of Batman: TAS were released in 1.5 years, Beyond's 3 seasons were all released in one year and all 5 seasons of Justice League/JLU were released within a year.

I know DCAU get's better treatment, but still... see what's possible?

Batman's episodes are drastically out of order. Trust me, I have the boxed set. Its a bad example.

Other than the "Drastically out of order" stuff, DCAU is WB's bread and butter. Without them, Scooby-Doo and the animation fan classic releases, they have NOTHING.

They're out of airdate order, but I'm pretty sure they're in production order.

You're missing my point brother, I was just demonstrating how it is possible to sell DVD's with out you're customers having 2 kids and going grey between each release.
