It's hard to choose since I love both versions. But, if I have to choose just one, old school. It made the greater impact on me compared with the current. But, hey. come to think of it, I have more Turtles merchandise now compared from before. I'm even giving time to post in this forum NOW. Though, of course, this forum didn't exist back then. Or it could be because I was a youngster then, didn't have my own money and didn't have control over my time yet.
I voted for old school.

Ninja turtles holds more nostalgia value for me, and has stood up surprisingly well over time. when i watched it recently the suits and faces really looked like guys with suits on. the turtles in tmnt were more dangerous and capable looking. 1990 was still a way better movie. tmnt didn't even need the turtles. it was winters' movie.

Since they had to go the CGI route, why didn't the producers use the same CGI used in Beowulf ? At least it would've looked alot more realistic.

TMNT is probably my least favorite film of the four. Turtles III at least has nostalgia on its side, something that TMNT wasn't good enough to make me overlook.

To me the one thing that kills Turtles III is the costumes. I kinda like the story, but then again I'm a fan of timetravel story arcs.

In some ways, yeah. There's no way in hell TMNT surpasses the original.

I'll speak for myself, brownranger.
Hey, I've been to a certain Turtle forum whose majority of members didn't respect the original. This is my way of figuring out where exactly the Technodrome stands, and in this case, it passed my test. |

"Test, what test?"
What would have happened if we failed?

The original movie for sure. It has nostalgia on it's side and I can watch it over and over again without getting bored.

Of course it is. Sage Ninja didn't create it.

The moral was definitely more profound in the 1990 movie. That's all the reason I need to prefer it over the 2007 movie.

In case anyone who'd be interested had missed it back then, here's a transplant from 'The Official TMNT Multimedia Thread':

Telling kids that if they feel excluded or rejected that turning to the false security of a gang can only serve to further alienate them from society seems pretty profound to me. Are you saying you never picked up on that?
