TMNT Coins?

Hi, I'm a long time visitor, but this is my first post. I guess you could say that I've finally come out of my shell. (sorry, I know I'm lame.) Anyway, does anyone remember the coins that came packaged with TMNT figs between 94-96? They were called "metallized kowabunga collectors coins" well, I was wondering if anyone knows exactly how many different coins were produced? so far I've counted 16 different coins. here's what I know exists -

Adventurer Turtle
April
Bebop
Casey Jones
Foot soldier
Krang
Rhinoman
Rocksteady
Shredder
Splinter
Sumo Turtle
Superhero Turtle
Undercover Turtle (I think this coin only came with Leo)
Warrior Chromedome
Warrior Metalhead Mike
Warrior Winged Turtle

I know that certain coins were packed with different versions of the same character, for example, the same Shredder coin came with the regular Shredder, Super Shredder, and the Shogun Shredder. So I'm also looking for a checklist for all the figs that came with a coin. And I was wondering if anyone can verify the existence of a Ace duck that came with the coin? I've asked alot of people but no one that i know can prove that Ace duck came with a coin. so if anyone here can provide a photo for me, or any other info regarding any of the figs with coins, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks - Sarah.

Welcome to The Technodrome!

I don't believe an actual figure titled "Samurai Shredder" was released. You may be thinking of Shogun Shredder.

Your best source for the information you seek is Vaughn Michael. He's a guru of sorts of these items.

Cheerio!

Oops!!! yeah, you're right. I meant Shogun Shredder. I apologize for that, it's kinda late here. I need sleep.

And thanks for the welcome, and the tip.

'Tis late here as well, and I am honestly wondering why I was not in bed several hours ago....

thanks Vaughn, like S said, if anyone would know, it would be you. I've been reading your posts on turtles that were released at the time, and I must say that your knowledge on the subject is very impressive.

Sure thing Sarah and thanks it seems we have allot in common beyond turtles, the phantom of the paradise is one of my all time fave movies and I have your user icon as a t-shirt that I wear often.

My girlfriend now has a new found fear of record presses thanks to Phantom of the Paradise (). I plan on reviewing it in the "Friend Requests" MCubeds for November, it Walkabout and Invasion of the Blood Farmers.

All will be made clear here.

The only problem with the "Friend Requests" theme I'm doing for November is that I haven't seen these movies and I may actually think they are good, and not just enjoy them for the sheer entertainment value.

Wait so you're going to bash one of the best cult films of all time (that's being remade by the director mind you) *shakes fists in your direction*

Not bash...persay. Just crack wise as I watch it. Heck, I may not be able too if I actually like the film, though I'm sure if I sat down I could joke at the expense of movies I love, like the 90's TMNT.

WOW!!! now you've really impressed me Vaughn!
not many people close to my age even know what that is. the movie came out 8 years before I was born but phantom of the paradise is def. in my top 5 fav movies. here in Canada the movie is widely regarded as a cult classic and every year they have a convention called phantompalooza to celebrate the film. usually the whole cast shows up. the only bad thing is that it's in winnipeg, so I only went the first year. I have that shirt too, as well as some other obscure POTP collectables. what's your fav song from the film?

No one does. I wish I still had my original TMNT figures. Blasted moving overseas and not thinking we'd make the weight requirement.

doesn't anyone have any info on these coins?

anyway, here's where I found the info on the Ace duck with the coin
http://home.earthlink.net/~tmntgal/T...AlphaList.html
he's #118 on the list, It's the only place I've ever heard that he came with a coin.
I emailed the owner of the website to ask for a pic, but they didn't reply.

does anyone have a pic?
