It's like... it's sort of Zulli's TMNT, but not quite that drastically/jarringly reptilian (versus their more traditional appearances, or even how their look evolved in the comics by, say, "Return to New York"). It's like, Michael Zulli meets the way the TMNT looked in the first couple issues of Eastman and Laird's TMNT comics... somewhere in the middle there.

It might be legit, it might not. It's right about the time that stuff like this would be popping up. Even if they don't deviate from the plan of CGI Turtles in a live-action movie, there still might be real suits for up-close shots and such.

I will say that there will almost assuredly be an effort to visually seperate the TMNT from the TMNT before in live action and otherwise. Whether that means all red bandannas, TMNT that look quite different physically, both... who knows.

First thing I thought of when I saw that mask:

I gotta say I really do like the new design so far, It's very original and shows an almost definate direction the films headed.

Looking at the head again, though, makes me wonder if perhaps it's musculature study and the actual face will be digitally laid over the head. Take a look at the vertebrae on the neck.

If this is a real prop head, that is.

Either way, I'm digging it.

Also, is that a Shredder helmet being sculpted in the background?

Grotesque, just like a turtle should be... This kinda reminds me of the TMNT parody in an ALF comic I had seen once. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if this is what we end up with.

You misspelled "so fifth". That hurts your credibility. Just Saiyan...

While I'm on the "Mirage side" of all of this, Zulli's TMNT aint Mirage. They need to base the look off of A.C. Farley's turtles.

Guys, this isn't the slightest bit real.

End of story.

This has nothing to do with the TMNT movie.

I think there's a high likelihood it may be real... but may be one of several mock-ups they're doing to pore over and decide what to go with.

No I can assure you it's fake.

While Latino Review has at times gotten scoops before, this isn't one of them.

No major movie studio in the world would greenlight a film featuring something like that. Not only does it look like a cheap fan made prop, this movie is being built to sell toys and appeal to little kids. At absolute best, someone in connection with the movie asked for a bunch of random mock-ups for potential Turtle designs. I can guarntee this one ain't even close to the final.

If this turns out to be real, I'll eat 10 vintage Playmates Turtles live on Youtube. You can quote me on that.

This is BS.

Its too early for it to be real, its most likely fake. We won't start seeing stuff until early 2001 at the earliest.

I could live with that if it was real. Actually I think it'd be neat if it was an in between stage for them. That could be how they look before they fully mutate or something. Probably not the case but here's to hoping. Honestly I'll take this over the ugly ass gecko look from the last movie.

Another big clue would be that Latino Review says that some random person emailed this to them. They say it wasn't even the original guy, who even that guy, apparently was never cited as being legit.

So basically, someone sent Latino Review a picture of their homemade fan prop and they posted it up as news, it's journalistic integrity at it's absolute least.

To their credit, the article basically says this whole thing is a bunch of bunk if you read between the lines enough.

I wonder if I emailed them that fan made mask that was posted up here a while back, if they'll post that up as news too?

IF it is in any way official this the most likely. They're probably doing several mock-ups (and possibly smokescreens) the same way many studios do when working on a product.

I'm.. I'm not sure what to make of it.

Aesthetically, I don't really see this working in film. It looks more like a henchmen design of some other movie than a lead character.

Actually, that brings up a point. The bandanna almost looks too crappy. I have a feeling some guy made this design for some other movie(or himself) and as a joke quickly cut out a bandanna to make it look like a Ninja Turtle for a pic. Just my two cents.

Still a cool design though
