I have jury duty June 1st. All I know about court is what I see on TV and in movies, so if my experience doesn't match or exceed my expectations, I'm gonna be PISSED.

I'm talking last minute surprise witnesses, objections, attempted murders on the judge, lawyers being held in contempt, everyone is extremely sexy, THE WORKS.

Prepare to be extremely disappointed my friend. I had jury duty a couple years ago and it was weak. I had to "call in" to see if their was a trial and if I had to show. Most of the times I did show, the case was resolved out of court and I'd driven there for no good reason. The one time it did go to trial, I wasn't selected out of the jury pool.

But who knows, maybe it'll be completely different for you and there will be a sexy assistant DA with big boobs who bends over a lot.

My Internet went out on Wednesday and wouldn't let me connect. We had to go to Best Buy to get it fixed. This is the second time something's gone wrong with my computer. I'm seriously cursed.

A few hours ago, me and a couple of people were driving down a busy street, when we saw a cat trying to get up onto the sidewalk. Nobody had stopped, he was extremely close to the other cars. He looked pretty bad so we drove around and went to him. Turned out he had broken both of his back legs, AS WELL as his back. I felt pretty disgusted. He was lying there very still, faintly breathing. We got a blanket from the car and picked him up in it. We called the nearest pet clinic and decided to drive him there. We put hm in the back for a second, when he started erratically shaking around, scratching the seats, looking like he'd had a seizure. We got in the car, I holding his head very still and down as we raced to the clinc, he still wriggled around while I held him.

He stopped moving about half way to the clinic. When we got there, the others got out o get someone to bring him in. I got out, and told the person who'd come out, that I'd thought he'd died. She pulled him out.

His face was blank. His mouth was open, as if stuck in the moment of trying to bite something. His head hung on his shoulder. His eyes empty with life, almost looking through me.

I asked if he was dead, she replied, 'Probably."

I literally started crying. I don't even know why. I'm usually not this sensitive. I haven't felt this upset for a long time. It made me upset just to write this.

It was very strange, I never expected to feel this bad. I know it's not as bad as losing a nephew (very sorry to hear about your loss Machi). But it still made me very upset. It was good to know that the cat died with probably the most love it'd ever had in it's life (it was a stray who'd had alot of other scars.)

I don't even know how to end this story. Think I'm just gonna go to bed now.

Wow, that's a sad story, SH. However, you should take comfort that you did the right thing and stopped to help the cat. You did all you could, and you shouldn't blame yourself for what happened. But it is sad that the cat had to die like that. People can be so cruel.

I know they call you for jury duty if you're a registered voter here in the U.S. That's one of the reasons I don't vote. Well, that, and I hate politics.

That's not true in every state. Some states do it by voter registration....some by DMV records (as in do you have a driver's license). There's lots of different ways they fill the jury pool.

And seriously......why not vote if you are of age. It seriously pisses me off when people complain about politics yet they do nothing about it. If you don't vote you should not have the right to complain about politics or the government or how much you dislike this policy or that. If you don't vote you are just complacently going along with what everyone else wants. Forget that.

Because I hate politics, that's why. Why should I bother voting for people who make empty-headed promises and don't really care about people? All politicians are crooks who don't care about anybody but themselves. And it doesn't matter anyway if I vote because there's no guarantee the person I vote for is going to get in. So, in that case, it's just a major waste of time. Sorry, but that's how I feel. If you like to vote and all that, good for you. I just don't see the point in it anymore.
