I have it on my HD. Its pretty much shot for shot the same pilot except with a few differences in music and, of course, a different actress playing Martha.

Connor would have been a guess for me, if they didn't already have a successor character by a verrrry similar name.

It was either Roy Harper or Connor Hawke. Most people think it's Connor.

For all we know it could be another character all together.

Chole and Oliver arent an item in the comics, Olly is married to Black Canary, and Chole was only recently added to the Superman comics as a character, she originated exclusively on Smallville.

Yep, Chloe is the Harley Quinn of Smallville, a character who was original to the series, then crossed over into the comic continuity.

I think that's the first negative opinion I've heard about that comic. For me the title is better written than anything involving New 52 Superman (except for maybe Superman Unchained) and a choice highlight of my all too rare DC collection these days

Some people who didn't care for New 52 Superman are really liking his characterisation in Greg Pak's run on Action Comics so far. It started with #25.

What I mean is, the comic book doesn't feel like Smallville. It feels like Your standard pre-new 52 Superman book. And for a Superman book I suppose it's fine. I know that's know that's kind of the point, but... the tone of what made Smallville so charming is gone.

Kind of like the Buffy and Angel comics, writers suddenly feel that since they have no budget they can do anything they want. Then the tone shifts into the absurd because you can't picture that on the show. Smallville for an issue had a bunch of rampaging apes running loose in metropolis. And another Clark was brought to the far far future.

I'm only at the end of Olympus but it feels like the comic series "Smallville" isn't even about Clark at all. While he was brutally passive on the show for most of its run, you could at least tell he was the main character. In the comics, I feel he's completely sidelined to watch Supergirl, Cyborg Superman, The Legion, Wonder Woman, and Batman. Even Tess has more of a story going on than Clark does.

In that case, I understand your frustrations with the book completly, and while it can be a problem when the supporting and side characters take up a lot of material, it's probably because I've seen Smallville as more of an ensemble show and not strictly about Clark. I was used to this sort of malarky happening all the time during the final three seasons as well.

Smallville certainly was an ensemble show, no doubt. But at least Clark always had the main storyline, even in the last three seasons. Clark stepping up and becoming The Red Blue Blur while investigating Doomsday in season 8. His whole relationship with Zod and the Kandorians for Season 9. And of course, season 10 was all about him overcoming the darkness and taking his last step into his destiny.

Season 11 it feels like they're just using Clark as a vehicle to get to different locations to introduce other character's stories. Lara, Lex, Lois, Lana, Cyborg Superman, Tess, Chloe, Oliver(until he left), Wonder Woman, Batman... they all had arcs that were very clear and apparent. What exactly is his arc this season? It's not "learning to be Superman" since thats pretty much the arc of the final 3 seasons. And he's not doing anything that shouts "I'm learning!". He's just... there. Being there. Because he has to be.
