everyone knows that about you man!!! lol i just don't find any value in it. im not a reseller but to me they have more value physically and that shock factor, more than a used toy with a leg and acc missing. people see a carded fig they are like whoa and then they see a dust cover loose fig and there like yea bid deal.

honestly when i saw your collection i was shocked at all your loose figs, i never seen anyone put so much stock into them. but hey to each there own.

lol i wouldn't be surprised to see you trade a carded fig for a loose one

I've got a majority of the rares on card. That has to be good enough for me till I get more room. We will see what happens when I'm done with school and back in the work force. I may ramp up the carded collection, I may not. I dunno, loose figures are just way more personal to me. And thats what this collection is about -- personal value as opposed to monetary value. If I have my way, this collection will never leave my bloodline (or until I'm dead and my drug addicted future great great great great great grandchild sells it for crack or something), so what something is "worth" is seldom a concern.

As much as I love Ally, my wife is the most incredible woman on the face of the earth.

Also I would never date someone who was as into the Turtles as I am. Just seems like it would be asking for drama. There is a lot of pride and ego involved in my TMNT obsession. I'd imagine putting a loved one in direct line of fire of those elements probably wouldn't be the greatest idea.

A fairly decent handful of figures were my childhood toys.

Exactly. I believe a comic or a toy being loved by someone leaves a palpable imprint on the object. Similarly, I really enjoy low grade comics. This is one of my favorite (non-tmnt) books in my collection:

It is the first appearance of Thor, and as you can see, it is REEEEAAALLLLY well read. When I hold that book, I can feel the history radiating from it. It is unmistakable. And I love that.

ehh. i don't know i guess that's your thing and mine is carded. but we got way off topic here lol. i just wanted to state the misery i go threw each time loose figure day on ebay rolls around. i wish they had it set up like England has there's set up. where they have a option of loose, carded (not exactly those words) it makes it so much easier to look. it would be easier here if people would stop putting new and Not Specified for loose figures (not all but some do).

This gives me a an idea for sure-fire riches. I will use my life savings to buy up every Genghis I can find, spending $10-$20 per figure. Then, once I control all of them, I will demand Scratch-like prices for them and make 2000% profit per figure! Why didn't we think of this sooner!?

Rob sells autographed photos on his website for $25, and the money goes to charity.

p.s. i know, i know. you don't have to say well don't look at them, pass them up etc. im just merely stating my opinion and my dislike for massive quantities of loose figs put up on ebay.
Considering this is the second time you've brought it up I'd think it was moreso your dislike for the seller than the items...

You know...a loose collection would be easier to store and display.

Just saying?

Love you too Stephan and i agree that having a spouse that is not totally into TMNT works out for the best.

Off topic from everything else, but boy do I agree with this.

I love a comic that looks like that. This book is one of my favorites in my collection:

Although it's not as beaten up as JIM, the scan really doesn't show some of it.

While I agree that OLDER, silver and golden age books are just fine no matter what grade since they are that rare. When it comes to anything copper or newer, then nothing but 9.8 with white pages does it for me.

I like knowing that if a tsunami hit the states and washed out all of the original artwork and most of the older tmnt comics that my CGC TMNT comic collection would be sought out to reprint them or to salvage the best copies out there since I only buy that rating. I'm very close to even beating out Adam's CGC collection even though he doesn't know it yet. I never have registered my full CGC collection anywhere. I always say that my collection is based on quality and not quantity. Different strokes for different folks though.
