Original Sculpt Shredder and Tatsu

Shredder is the new Hardest figure i have ever made, [grey fox was my old one] took forever to make, one of the slowest figures I've ever made. The armor was such massive pain in the ass. i sculpted two different sets of armor. one with styrene blades, and another set with blades from an iron-man figure . But they looked awful. I couldn't find any good blades and my shredder sat around forever cause i was stuck on the blades. I could never find super shredder figures for a decent price.

But Wes PMed and saved my ass, with a great website that hade vintage TMNT parts for an actual decent price. and now i was able to get a complete set of shredder armor for the figure. I used super shredder armor leg armor. and regular toon shredder shoulder pads. Unfortunatley one of the super shredder pads is a different shade from the other ones. I also hand made the hand blades.

We's shredder was a big inspiration for me, i copied it, Used the same base figure [almost], and i used all the same armor. thats my favorite shredder custom.

I went with original cartoon shredders color scheme. I used a sentry cape, but i had to glue it on, so the pictures with out the cape were before i glued it on, cause now it's stuck on. But the cape makes him off balnce and i used a clear transparent thing to set the cape on so he stands. Ialso used ml4 elekta skirt thing. and for accesories i used the vintage mutagen capsules and the shredders communicator... that i painted toon accurate.

These customs look fantastic. My constructive criticism is that Bebop, Rocksteady, and the Foot Soldiers all have bizarre necks. But wow, these look great otherwise.

Tatsu was much easier he's mostly just a reuse of a ML ronin figure. I did not take a wip picture of tatsu but i resculpted the chest and the arms. I based him on the video game version but i tried to take a few things from the movie version on the face. but i tried to make it not realistic obviously. I'm bummed on the skin tone, i originally wanted to make him a bit more game sprite accuate, but they ran out of the paint i needed at the shop i go too.

now i feel satsfied i have shredder tp lead everyone finally.

Hmmm well i may ass well toss in a sneak peak for what i'm doing next but these anrt done...

muckmans 90 % done, i need to work on the face more, but i still need to sculpt joe eyeball. casey still needs a head [duh], and a shoulderpad....

Happy to see you're still at it! Some of the best TMNT customs out there, as usual.
The best part about this thread though, is the Muckman preview. Wow! That's gonna be siiiiick.

That is pretty cool! What is next on your list of TMNT figures? Maybe Playmates should hire you to do the designs for the TMNT Classic line that has been said to go alongside the 2012 cartoon line!

WOW!!!! Those are incredible!!! The ML Sentry figure is a great base for customs! It has the same scuplt as ML Wonder Man, which I used for a bunch of Green Lantern customs I made. Your work is awesome!!! I hope you tackle a Slash figure!!

Do you mind if I ask what figures you used as bases for Bebop & Rocksteady?

I definitely like to see more pics of your Rat King as well!!

I have muckman and casey jones as my next set. But i have fodder for slash, triceriton, leatherhead, metalhead, rahzar... so those are on my short list. it'd probably take forever to do all that.

like i just said i actually have slash on my short list, i have fodder for him.

bebop and rocksteady of both made from Masters of the universe classics mermans. i dremled everything down to the core and sculpted over them .

i go into more detail with more pics in the thread for them.

Um, I love this thread? Damn, these are some of the best custom works I have ever seen with Tmnt figures. I love that Tatsu and Shredder! Amazing. I either need to get money to commission someone or I need to start painting my own. After looking through this thread my figures are looking rather bland!

well they do have the mu hand/ronin body, so it'd work perfect. iy you need a good head i think the gi joe blind master head from the 2-pack would work great for tatsu. just needs a moustache. thanks for the responses
